3d doom has very different colours and a lot of details, so it lacks that minimalist vibe of first doom. And animation could use a smooth doom threatment, or it's might be easier to make it stop motion (what if we disable monster interpolation in settings?). Also keeping stretched aspect ratio in mind would help to make believable proportions. Could also you multiple poligons to look like voxel doom and quake 3 (and it will match textures a little)

smooth doom just feels wrong, it’s like when people make those hd mods for half life that change nothing but the character models so its this high poly ultra hd photorealistic scientist in front of a single brush wall with a 144p texture

I really wish they would have kept the super shotguns longer animation, not because it looks crisper, but because the Super Shotguns firing speed is only slightly longer than the normal so the double ammo thing isn't enough of a tradeoff on its own for the high damage it outputs

Voxel FTW -- looks virtually identical, save some new angles, and keeps the limited animation and timing, which makes it look creepy. 3D Doom has its place, but if we're going for what honors the OG aesthetic and atmosphere hands-down Voxel. 3D would work really well to incorporate Doom into, say... Quake or another game from that era.

The biggest problem with 3D remodels is that while they make more complex higher fidelity models, they keep the 2 frame animations which looks so terrible. You can't upgrade to 1999 graphics while keeping 1993 animations. The biggest problem with voxel models seems to be that from a few angles it's very ugly because they didn't have a pixel art reference so it's just guess work.

The 3D movement reminds me of the Music Non Stop AMV from Kraftwerk.
