Thank You I feel better now. Not alone. Christmas looms 4 days away and the weather the past few days has been charitable. But days of dark December mizell have turned now to dull dishwater skies. And through my drawn curtains the grey seems to lighten in value. Objects in my house threaten to put on shadows. Assert their reality! And the ambient internal drone of existential dread rises toward dissonant anxiety. "No cloying blue skies and sunshine just yet, please!" These prolonged sunless days suit my mental weather right now. They mute, or at least modulate, the roiling outside world. I feel safer, almost snug. Protected or insulated from its reliable harms. Those in progress, and all the fresh Hells that lay waiting in the shadows like a mugger with a lead pipe.

The incredible thing about music is that because there are a million and one different genres, there's truly something for everyone to connect and resonate with. Your music may have words, or maybe it doesn't. It may have a strong, repetitive beat or perhaps it is a beat-less void full of abstract sounds. Regardless, we can find deep meaning in any of these sounds, meaning that feels intimate and personal to us. What I find meaning in may not make sense to you, and vice versa, but that's ok :) personally, I have always connected so much more with music like this, that is without words. It gives my mind a "space" where I can create my own story from the sounds, as opposed to being told a story. It just feels so freeing to me, an escape from the constant barrage of "stuff" we experience everyday; ads, websites, apps, texts, emails, videos. This music is simple and beautiful to me, I feel at peace and happy

Personally I love most of the "The Cold Still" Album, especially Memo, Both Sides are Even and The Runner. Other favourite tracks include Forces, Diamonds, Promises and Take Me Back. Hope that's helpful.
