Measuring is very important on how to get the correct measurements. You didn’t go over properly measuring your dog and that’s what I wanted to see since I’m going to be putting a harness on my Alaskan Husky. I did enjoy the other fitting aspects as well. Thanks.

Thank you so much for this video! It was informative and understandable, and a good length. I sincerely appreciate your suggestions for those of us who need to try our best to help our pets at home. I’d always prefer to go to a veterinarian, but sometimes it’s not possible-and that’s heartbreaking. My 15 year old Bichon jumped off of a bed onto hard tile two years ago. His vet did an ex-ray that showed a mild issue with his spine. She gave him anti-inflamatories and he has been great until recently. He’s having the same symptoms now, so I feel pretty confident trying anti-inflamatories and rest for now. Really, thank you so very much for this information!

Hey! I’m glad your baby is doing better, just today I had similar issue with mine Siberian Husky, he jumped a few flights of stairs down and landed hard on my wood floor, his rear end is completely paralyzed & he won’t feel anything. I Just got back from the vets and besides the surgery witch was sadly extremely out of our budget, he recommended home Medications, was wondering if the Anti-inflammatory is an option ican buy online or would I have to strictly get it from the vet? Thank you so much in advance

@@julioalcantara1485Awe, I’m so sorry you pup is hurt! The surgery is out of budget for me as well, and my vet said the outcomes aren’t great anyway. Mine is on prescription from the vet.

Amazing how patient and still the animal was, they do this because it feels good and they know it's an area that has been bothering them. I adjusted a Labradoodle's shoulder recently that had been hurting. That with some trigger point massage and it was totally gone after a couple times, and jumping off the bed with no assistance needed or limping anymore.

If it's an acute aggravation, I would wait until the inflammatory response subsides. Therefore if they are still sensitive to the area of touch then hold off.

@@k9activehealth he fell off the bed last Friday tiny senior chihuahua who was already using a wheelie from an injury 1 year ago this time he scooped himself off the bed by accident(carpet floor) couple places I touch he’s sensitive to middle bottom of spine and above the soulder hes not unable to stand on his wheelie I have to spoon feed and use seringue for water which he kinda chokes to swallow 😔 it’s no looking good but I’m not giving up last time looked like he was gonna die but he made it. So I should wait before moving his limbs my concern is damage where he won’t b able to poop this is very disappointing because I had to cut my hours now I had to leave my job and the money situation vets are very expensive so I’m trying to do it on my own just in the past 10 it’s been well over 12k for both dogs and this was a real pull back to being worse than before but I won’t give up he’s not giving up and I’m not either. I used the videos for physical therapy and try to heal as much as possible. I used heat and that when he became less mobile and started looking more paralyzed should I use ice instead?

Is it possible that a dog has strained a muscle, but didn't make a sound? I mean I don't see any simptoms that would show any injury, but she usually rolls over or is thrown out of bend, so I'm just a bit paranoid🙈.

Great videos! I've found that supplementing their meals with hydrolyzed collagen powder makes a big difference. Around 2/3 level teaspoon per day for a 10 pound dog. I think they heal much faster and more completely and become more resilient also. I noticed subtle results after a couple weeks but after six weeks the changes were obvious.

"Pivot-shift" phenomenon, too! I'd never heard of it until my 13 y/o Lab developed it immediately following TPLO surgery with meniscus removal. "Pivot-shift" phenomenon is the black hole of canine topics...precious-little information on it, even less advice for dealing with it. It's awful to see a Labrador retriever leg jutting out like a Bulldog leg then flailing around when they try to walk. Any recommendations?
@convincedquaker
@convincedquaker Ай бұрын
I suspect this has been damaged (ruptured?) in my 13 year old Lab. Vet did a TPLO which resulted in SEVERE pivot-shift phenomenon. So, a month later vet did an Extracapsular Lateral Suture Stabilization. Condition worsened. One month later infection seemed probable. So, one month later vet explanted all TPLO and ELSS hardware. Culture results confirmed ELSS crimp had been contaminated during implant with staphylococcus bacteria. Antibiotics. No improvement. More antibiotics. Custom made orthotic brace being made. Four months and $12,000.00 later, no improvement.

I have a 6 year old toy poodle and he is having trouble with his back limbs. He jumps a lot and when this started, he jumped and when he came down he started yelping and could not walk. He has a hard time standing and has a hump back. I took him to the vet and he said that he needs surgery on his back because there is something wrong with his spine. My daughter in law recommended an animal chiropractor and we started taking him to a chiropractor after the doctor told me he needed surgery. He was improving until he chased a cat that was on our driveway and it’s back again with hardly walking. The chiropractor is doing the treatments again with laser therapy. I’m afraid that he may need surgery. What do you suggest?

My 8 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback is experience most of these symptoms 11 weeks post op tplo (she had tplo on her other leg 2 years ago). In your video are you suggesting to find a dog rehab center or go back to the vet? Also, on your website you have a list of supplements for joints. Do you suggest one supplement over the other for this issue? Thank you
@k9activehealth
@k9activehealth 2 ай бұрын
It's hard to discuss specific situations, but in general if you are not seeing the expected post surgical results, then yes go to an alternerative centre for manual therapy/rehab. All supplements are supportive in nature and should be taken on a consistent basis, rather than as a treatment for symptoms. Hope that helps.

I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong with my cane corso right now or if he’s just being lazy. He isn’t giving me any indication of pain and in the past he wouldn’t eat and would avoid getting up to the point I would have to force him but that was bc he has inflammation. Recently, in like the past couple days he would jump on my bed but only the first half of his body and with the back two legs try to find a grip to pull himself up with. And during cuddle time I was trying to get him towards me because he sleeps at the end of the bed and he took a couple tries to get up. I don’t think it’s hip dysplasia but I’m worried.

I have a sheep with a spine that is S shaped. He walks like a crab. I am guessing this has happened due to his ram buddies " ramming " him one time too many. The result is that sometimes he lies down and rather than lying like a cat, he ends up on his side. This for a sheep, can be fatal if not found and helped upright in a timely fashion. I am desparate to correct his spinal issue before winter because if I don't, I'll have to put him down. Winter weather will not allow for me to check on him throughout the night like I do now. I've had the vet, who said it was likely nerve damage and a round of Meloxican for a few days would help. It did not or at least, if it reduced pain, it didn't correct the crooked spine and crab walk. Dogs have similar skeletal and muscle structure so I'm hoping is something works for a dog, it will work for my ram.

Is the AFL in that area? My dog just had TPLO surgery (8mm rotation). Cruciate ligament was ruptured. Also, Meniscus was removed as it had torn in two and disintegrated. But, I fear there's a third issue that's muscular as leg is still loose and wobbly.
