Wow. Thanks for the heads up. I have always been metaphysical but have had the calling to follow the traditional route now. Even though i've been baptised many times i've never followed through. After experiencing first hand the spiritual warfare segment of what religions speak of, I have honored the calling of sky Daddy to be His warrior in this fight - whatever that entails. So, now I know, that 15:09 this will be no easy feat. Thank God I clicked on your message. I'm looking for members of my tribe. And I do believe I have just found one. Yay! Hello sister. I halfway agree with these sentiments. On one hand, I realize there can be good reasons to decide not to attend a funeral. And if you have a good reason, then you shouldn't care what anyone thinks or says about it. If the consequences of going are worse (for you) than consequences of not-going, then don't go. On the other hand, no "God" is going to care if you go to a funeral or not. Worrying about (and thus trying to cater to) what an invisible Super-Parent thinks = An insidious, self-enslaving form of superstitious thinking. So if someone has that as their only reason for not going to the funeral of a lost loved-one, then the best available reason for not going is: spending that morning in therapy; trying to get help for crippling superstitions that are controlling your life and separating you from properly honoring the people you do (or, otherwise would) love.
