Thank you. That book was a really important milestone in my spiritual journey as well. I still re-read parts or the whole of it fairly regularly. Butterworth was a powerful exponent of Truth teachings in both the written and spoken word.

Thank you for this, Dr Ellis-Jones. Just when one thinks, "How vulgar: this is a motivational speaker, a salesman, the friend of politicians and multi-millionaires- and historically an influence in the lives of the New York Trump family, now notorious in the political affairs of the doomed USA" - at the moment one thinks this, while viewing the video, Dr Peale refers yet again to Our Lord. At such points one discerns what lies behind his words, for what rightful power or rightful "kingdom" Dr Peale is speaking. Writing as a radical Catholic in Estonia, opposed to the transitory American culture of money, fame, and power in which Dr Peale was unfortunately so much at home, I find that Dr Peale preaches from a position of weakness. Paradoxically, however, it is this very weakness that gives his message authenticity and power. Some, like Corrie ten Boom or Dorothy Day or Sophie Scholl or Saint Maximilian Kolbe (to cite four figures more congenial to the radical Christian than Dr Peale could be), convey authenticity through their life sacrifices. Yet Dr Peale, too, has authenticity. The universe is odder than we can hope to imagine; the Kingdom, present already "among us", is a joyful paradox. So thank you, Dr Peale. Thank you for your long insightful comment. Dr Peale was a conservative evangelical who generally eschewed the language of evangelical Christianity. He used many New Thought terms, which angers and alienates some Christians, but having met the man, and read all his books, I have no doubt that he was a real Christian who loved God, Jesus and humanity. Healing is not always physical. Sometimes, for various reasons, physical healing is not possible or feasible. Healing on the mental and spiritual planes is perhaps of greater importance. We all need the latter. All the very best!

I will believe myself healed from this debilitating depression. I was one move away from being free and living the dream life and I made that wrong move that caused regret and depression to set in. That was like my Judas I guess.

That's a good way of looking at it. Our twelve powers are within us all, not just one person. I find it helpful to focus each day on the ONE Power and Presence that animates and sustains all things. Call it God, Omnipresence, Truth, Love, Life ... it doesn't really matter. What does matter is that we live in and through that Presence. All the very best to you--and thanks for your comment.

I don't have set beliefs, but I would ask: Is it possible that an evil entity (Satan or whoever) would've know what Christianity would be, so the entity created warped versions of it (virgin birth, God who dies and comes back, etc) to predate Christianity and cause ppl to reject it bcuz it seems like a copy-paste of other faiths? If I wanted to undermine someone's work, and I knew they were about to publish an article or release a song or sthg, I might just do a slightly different version of that work and release it first, lol

It's a bit like the Devil supposedly inventing dinosaur bones to deceive us from our relationship with, or belief in, God. My fundamental belief in God as the Only Presence and Power active in the universe, and in your life and mine, precludes me from even entertaining such ideas. God is all there is. God is Omnipresence and Omnipotence. There is no room for any adverse power or presence. Keep well and thanks for your comment and interest in the subject matter.
