They had to add Flair because he was a big deal especially back then and he was an integral part of the "sub-story" of Kevin struggling to be the main eventer of the family, and Kerry gradually taking over while their father kinda makes them compete against one another for that spot. I thought the actor got the maneurisms but not the voice and most especially not the accent. It's the accent and the lisp that defines Ric Flair's voice more than anything else. I liked the music during that promo, it made Ric look like a big deal, just like Harley Race, and both of their respective scenes perfectly blended reality with fiction, because as we know wrestling is staged but it's also a highly physical and competitive business where there can be real heat and real altercations even during matches. I wish more pro wrestling movies were made in that spirit. I thought the Ric Flair actor did a better job in the post-fight locker room scene when he was congratulating Kevin for his toughness. He looked and sounded more like Ric in that scene, and spoke exactly like how we could imagine Ric would've spoken in that situation.
