Hi Mark. In terms of stability it behaves like some sea kayaks. Because of the V shaped keel, secondary is better than primary stability. That means better stability on motion. It needs some practice to get used to it but, unlike the rigid ones, you can shape the bottom flatter with lower pression to make it more stable on your first attempts.

@@silvajorst não precisa de tradução,só que não entendi nada desse vídeo, você deu um rolezinho com os pneus da marca citada, e não fez nenhum comentário, assim entendo quando um Motociclista faz um vídeo referente a certo assunto da motoca, que nos interessa enquanto Motociclista, penso que devemos fazer algum comentário a respeito daquele assunto em líder,no seu caso, os pneus, que por acaso vou compra os mesmos dos seus, mas lembrando que por causa de outros vídeos mais dinâmico, sobre o mesmo pneus. Resistente. Tem 2 anos e muitas saídas e sem sinais de desgaste. Muito pratico em termos de transporte e arrumação. Tenho 2 rígidos e acabo por levar este na maioria das vezes.

@@joaotfs353 Bem rápido para um insuflável. Faz-se bem médias acima dos 6km/h. Mais rápido p.ex que o meu Ocean Kayak Prowler 13. Consegue-se manter bem o rumo mesmo com algum vento lateral. Com 3.8m é bastante manobravel e anda-se bem em espaços apertados. O baixo peso ajuda quando é preciso trava-lo ou acelerar para vencer a corrente. A maior desvantagem é ser muito difícil fazer a esquimotagem por ser um bocado mole na zona de apoio dos joelhos e por causa do centro de gravidade um pouco mais alto. Por outro lado é bem mais confortável (para mim) que um sit-in clássico, por permitir mudar a posição das pernas

I tipped mine for the first time in a fast moving river a few days ago. I was thankful for bringing some paracord to moor the kayak while I rescued it. For me the hardest part by far was righting the kayak when filled with water. Lessons learned for next time: don't securely tie a heavy dry bag to the top of the deck, use the paddle float as leverage to right the kayak, if the air temp is 6 degrees C, expect the water temp to be close to freezing!

This method is essential to learn. There are times where the roll just won't work and you need a back up.

Two years now, about 50 trips and no signs of wear yet.

Hi. I am interested to know how stable you find this kayak. I am a beginner to intermediate user. I've used sit-on tops many times and sit-ins with a skirt a few times and it was okay - borrowed a friend. The Itiwit is not cheap and I'd hate to find it too unstable. How are you finding it?

With some practice you can do it much faster. This was only the second time I did it this way. I also wanted to show slowly the different steps. Thanks for your comment.

It needs some practice. You can use a lower pressure in the bottom blatter. Try between 5 and 8 PSI and you will feel an improvement on the stability.

It is a bit more unstable than sit on top rigid kayaks, but for calm waters and no wind it just takes a little bit of practice. I would recommend you buy the floater and practice this technique shown on the video as well, near the shore. But overall it is a good kayak

To kayak at the sea is necessary to have some practice and knowledge of the local sea conditions (wind, tide, waves and current) or go with a local guide. About learning how to handle a kayak, it´s not to difficult. Principally if it is a stable Sit-on-Top kayak.

I check out Craigslist from time to time, and have had my eye on one of these. A 2010 Elite just popped up for a very fair price, but your comments about Specialized no longer have parts (shock and brain) alarm me. I suspect, given its age, that the bike will need a little attention. If the brain and/or the shock need replaced in the future, what does that do to the bike - I mean, is it then pretty much worthless?Thanks in advance for your help, anyone. I want to be buying something that could potentially, in the very near future, be an albatross around my neck.
