Timothy in his brilliance first advocated for educated designers and informed design as opposed to copying from Pinterest for example. After that, he proposed a design process where form is explored first and then function, which differs from the usual approach where form follows function.

I am one of the many fortunate designers that received mentorship from Dr. Noel Mayo.

I started with 'Disguise' and wanted to know more. That was 1985 - what happened next? Snippets brought me here to a wonderfully relaxed hour-long chat with such a nice person! I trained as an industrial designer, but have been involved in all sorts of design since then - a veritable 'jack of all trades' (not including the rest of the phrase). At 76 I am inspired by this youngster and thank you for providing the opportunity to get to know her a little better.

I was so lucky to have had Mr. Burton as my first semester Graphics professor. His first year teaching at U of H. Mr. Burton changed the way I looked at design in such a positive way. I was in the Environmental Design Department- Mr. Burton was such a positive influence not only in my architectural drawings but my models and the entire way I approached and thought about design. To this day he is such an incredible influence- I can only hope that his talent, generosity, patience and his pure honestly, I will be able to honor him in some way. Most incredible and talented artist ever. Thank you, Mr. Burton. Marie-Elena Balbona
