If you need to see the division in the cell, you could use a formula, such as =5/1.5

@@contextures I used the concatenate to make a formula. I need to divide over 10 000 cells by 1000 ,but i need the formula to be shown in a cell when I click on the cell. then i copied concatenate columns and pasted special. now it shows =515/1000. only if i click enter inside the cell after the last digit it shows 0.515 and if i click on the cell, then it shows formula. that is what i need. but how to make it faster than going to each cell and hitting enter? Please help. The cell cant show =A1/1000, it must be the actual number =515/1000. I figured it out last year and now i have this year deadline and i completely forgot how i did it.

@@annamol2707 First, make a BACKUP copy of your file. Then Insert a blank column beside your numbers In that column, put this formula (if A2 has the first number) ="=" &A2&"/1000" Copy formula down to the last row with numbers Select all the formula cells, press Ctrl+C to copy Right-click on first formula cell, click Paste Values Select all the formula cells, press Ctrl+H Find: = Replace with: = Click Replace All Copy all the formula cells, paste over original cells Delete the temporary column

Thanks / this has been driving me crazy for 7 years. I always need to add data to the cell that this options box blocks or I can't see what is in the cell because the box hid the cell.

I use the paste special to add/mult/sub/div all the time. I like your macro based approach. I wish my employer were a bit more open to using VBA. I understand the security issues with VBA, but it is powerful when configuring the UI.
