The thing about Mecha Sonic as an antagonist is novel because... In the original game he was just a gadget. Really, nothing more than a jobber without a personality that went down in a single boss fight. Here? He's a fucking force, no other way to put it. He's as much of a threat as Freeza. It's clear that losing to him, even for a second, has consequences, irreperable consequences. Ones that cannot be reversed or fixed. And in this one, he just kinda... sorta wins. He does destroy the island. The best his opponents can do is evacuate the population, but many still die in the process.

The fourth star for me was for whatever reason super difficult to obtain. Like it was unnecessarily so high up in the level that I’m surprised it wasn’t a 5th or 6th star. With the 6th star being probably the 2nd easiest IMO
