Great video and to the point however, mentioning the 1/2” seam allowance when stitching the pieces together would be very helpful! I had to search the comments to hopefully find out. Thanks!

Cut to (but not not through) the stitch. I'd say about 1/8" away from the corner :)

I hope this bends in 1/2 easily. I saw one video where the instructor sews 3 lines of stitching from corner to corner for the quilting lines, diagonally. These made it easy for the hot pad to bend in 1/2 while grabbing the pot handle on would imagine. If you fold it corner to corner. But should be done before the picket goes on. I can’t remember which person did the video that showed this extra stitching idea, but it did seem nice if people were worried about the hot pad bending in the middle easily.
@sassycassysews4641
@sassycassysews4641 Жыл бұрын
You can do your stitching lines however you want! 😊 And yes, it bends easily (although that will also have to do with how thick of batting you put in there).

What is the length set at? Can't find any videos that state this. Btw very very informative and I loved how you used a bobbin as your second spool I was wondering if I could do this since I only had one spool in the color I wanted.

Yes, you can use a second bobbin as your top thread! 😊 Standard length is 2.5 and that's usually where I have it set. You should be good between 2-2.5. Hope that helps!

Could you tell me what kind and weight/strength is the batting. I've just started teaching myself how to sew. My daughter wants to have a booth at our local Saturday market this Summer selling produce she grows. Thought I could help with items i sew. She's planning to major in Ag business when she starts college in the Fall. 🤗

Hi! I bought the batting at our fabric store. It's a natural cotton batting, similar to what is in this link. You can really use any kind of quilters batting at any weight and it'll work. If it's too thin then the heat might go through more quickly. You can always double up on the batting. Hope this helps. Good luck at your booth! 😊 smile.amazon.com/dp/B000YYZSJA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_PMD3MTPG8HJTBH4C4HHG

Everything has to be 100% cotton. If used in microwave you can use regular cotton batting with scrim? Spelling in it.
