Still to this day one of if not my favourite film of all time. I was up to no good in and around London about this time , nothing major just silly bit here and there . This film just resonates with me . Everything about it is done soooo well . Cameras / lighting / wardrobe / casting / script, it’s just faultless . British film making at its absolute finest.

You dont see bouncers like this anymore - maybe a good thing, idk. Without any disrespect they are basically store security nowadays. I was in central last weekend and some guy got caught hitting someone, he was stood outside for about half and hour giving out to 5 bouncers who were politely trying to calm him down and ask him to leave. Back in the day i doubt theyd have asked once lol.

Has anyone read roy shaws book and lennys? i read them both years ago and im sure i remember roy only mentioning two fights but lenny mentioned 3. can anyone clear this up because to me it seemed roy shaw conveniently left out the decisive win for Lenny.

That's because these are amateur boxers in unlicensed boxing they're both bouncers one from Southend other from east London ,this was in leyton orient football grounds set up by "gangsters" think Snatch .in a street fight Lenny would smash nearly anyone without doubt in the ring however not so much
