@ Your video contained the most detail. It ended being the one I used. Removing and installing the air filter box was clumsy. Removing the front to the battery box was not as bad, but still a little clumsy. Thanks for making the video. That’s a lot of work for just replacing a battery.

Fantastic video! One of the best I have seen. My new battery installation took just over an hour thanks to this video. Thank you! As for the battery registration, I found an obd2 device with battery coding on Amazon for $90. All in, it was still 1/2 of paying someone to do it.

Thanks for the video. Just changed my battery but my heat shield basically fell apart. Is the heat shield that important ?
@TheBatteryShop10 сағат бұрын
Thanks for watching. Your heat shield will help some of the engine heat from getting to your battery.

Great YT, another one showed the guy struggling to replace it without fully removing the plastic shelf above it. Maybe he should have watched yours first.

Informative Video. I'm a retired Pro Wrench (Audi's are my Specialty). I've personally been using a Ross Tech VCDS Dongle & a FOXWELL NT710 Touchscreen Tablet. I have also considered getting a OBDeleven Pro although my understanding is that it requires an annual subscription whereas the two Bi-Directional Scan Tools I already have do not. Where are you putting the jumper cables at under the hood? It looks like a fuse box up there the red is connected to? Black just goes to the metal?

Excellent video. Just a question relating to the memory saver….with the known fault relating to the foot module on the R60 when changing the battery, does using the memory saver prevent this fault from occurring?

Thanks for watching and the feedback. We would recommend you consult a mechanic for that question.

Do you have to 'register' the new battery with the cars computer?
@sethhungerford62007 күн бұрын
This video was definitely the most straightforward instructions I found. Was very helpful, thanks so much! I will note, between 1:50 - 2:03, the "removing the lower air box assembly" step was a bit more involved than this video showed. It took a bit to get the assembly fully detached, but the extra steps were low risk. just pulling out some extra plastic pipes mostly. Great video, saved me from having to go to a mechanic! Just be prepared for a couple extra small steps not listed in the video.

If I’m trying to replace the airbag, can I just remove one wire? Both? Or just that click in sensor?

Typical video that leave out the most important steps. 1. Crawl into the truck to release the latch since you cannot open the trunk without power. 2. Chryslers notoriously set off the car alarm when changing batteries, and nothing was mentioned how to avoid this.

Thanks for this video. It was not easy. One caution. As I removed the lower half of the air filter box one of the rubber mounting grommets was pulled out of its location and fell into the engine compartment. I didn’t notice it was missing until reassembly. I found it with a bright flashlight. Thanks again.

You dont mention anything about needing to register the battery and reprogram so the system knows its a new battery. If you dont do this, the new battery will be overcharged and dies much earlier in its life.

This is WRONG! A Group H6 (48) battery does not fit a 2013 VW Golf because the correct battery size for that model is considered a "Group 47" or "H5" battery!
