Very good information, I'm not an electronics expert but I like it, thanks to a USB-C tester I discovered that my switch lite has 2 pins with a value of 0 , the CC1 and CC2, the strange thing is that it only charges using a cell phone charger, it does not work with the N.Switch charger 😢

I try too deffirent fpc cable but no result with it just the ic backlight always hot when turn the switch on hot with no image just sounds
@fixmyappjim2 күн бұрын
Hi, The backlight of the LCD screen is controlled by the backlight driver. I would replace the backlight driver IC if it get's hot. The backlight driver IC has to generate a max voltage of 17 volt depending on the brightness settings in the Nintendo Switch. The CPU sends a PWM signal to this driver IC and it will start generating the voltage for the LED in the LCD screen. Gr. Jim

Thank you for this amazing video. I have very strange problem on one OLED motherboard. Although all other USB functions are working, HDMI, 5V and 15V charging, data transfer with dock or direct PC connection (MTP), USB-C doesn't power devices on its own. That means when you connect, for example, Pro controller directly to USB-C without dock or external USB HDD/SSD/NVME, that devices doesn't work. It works on every other Switch I tried, but not on this motherboard. To better illustrate problem, if you use any USB-C hub, even if that hub doesn't support HDMI output for Switch, USB device will start to work the moment you add power to that USB hub. If you have any advice what I have to check on the board. Pretty much is impossible to find anything on internet, because Google thinks I am looking for solution for delivering power to Switch, but my problem is that Switch doesn't deliver power to accessories on its own... and at least 5 other do that without any problem.

Hi, I would replace the M92 IC as it is responsible for the power delivery communication between USB-C devices. Gr. Jim

Hi the 7 mosfet are shorted because they are connected in parallel. You can isolate the problem by removing the output coils of each phase untill the short is released. You can also inject max 0,9V with 2 Amps to see which mosfet or the APU is getting hot. Gr. Jim

Nice video, I am working on something similar. One question: Why did you use the 64 amp circuit breaker? I mean, its 4 x 600 W (bottom heater) + 450 W (top heater) = 2950 W total. Divided by 220V it comes to about 13.4 amps. I mean, the 64 at 30 ms will never pop, even if there is a short. The main breaker with RCD should instead pop first at 16 amps in 5 ms. Or am I missing something?
@fixmyappjim2 күн бұрын
Hi, Thank you for watching the movie and also this feedback. You are 100% correct. Because this was my first attempt in my planning i would not implement the RCD but my plans changed and i had already bought the wrong RCD. So i decided to use this one as i will be using it as a main power switch. Because i will never let this rework station unattended i did not change it. But yes for safety use the RCD with correct max amperage. Gr. Jim

@fixmyappjim2 күн бұрын
Hi, The bottom heater can be set to max 200 degrees. 200 or better 180 degrees with unleaded solder is safe to use as solder won't liquefy. I also add aluminum adhesive tape to delicate components that are located under the PCB board and are exposed the bottom heater. Gr. Jim
