When I first started riding these jumps were humongous. But compared to what I'm jumping now (3 foot) it's nothing. This is my horse (picture top left hand corner) her name is Star.

Crops don't really hurt if you just give them little tap. It wakes the horses up and gets them moving. I think it's fine to use them when your horse is being sleepy or is not listening. But I absolutely don't agree with whipping them pointlessly!!
