Went to my local headphone store (shout out for Audio 46 in midtown Manhattan, great guys, awesome service) with my A&K SR35, looking to upgrade from my Westone Mach 60's, and got to audition the Moon Rover, Andromeda Emerald Sea, the Bonneville and the Supermoon. I honestly went to the store thinking I was going to make the Andromedas mine that day. My audition tracks were Genesis "Entangled", Widespread Panic "Surprise Valley", Sophie B Hawkins "Don't stop swaying" and Sara K "Stars", all hi-res flac or DSD. The Bonneville, Moon River and Andromeda were all superb. More detailed than I was used to with the Westones, deeper but still well controlled bass, airy female vocals, warm mids, not a hint of sibilance in the highs, very very good indeed. But. Then I got to the Supermoons. Oh. My. God. And that's actually what I said, out loud, in the store. Absolutely blown away. The first 1 minute of Sara K "Stars" gave me full body goosebumps the size of a small family car. The velvety nature of Sara's voice caressed my earholes in a way that made me think that the price of the IEM's must be a typo. The BLACKNESS of the silence between notes was so absolute, beautiful DEEP bass. There was no contest for my ears. I coupled the IEM's with Spinfit CP145 in large and could not be happier with my purchase. Leaving the store, I felt like a thief for the price I paid.

the way you described Raven's bass is exactly what I experienced with my old Sony ier z1r which means Raven is the best upgrade for me the thing i hate with the z1r is the upper mids it seems like Raven has better upper mids The best source for a Raven is a near neutral source so it doesn't boost anything

There is something I don"t get : How come you can be so precise to describe the sound differences of the mentioned DAP's and at same time telling us you cannot tell any difference in a blind test ? Honestly, I am fed up with these reviews that only rely on "impressions", never mention measurements and never base their conclusions on serious blind tests.

I appreciate the deepest and the most impressive review for 64 Audio Aspire4. If don’t mind, could you recommend 4.4mm BAL cable suitable for Aspire4? Thank you in advance.🙏
@MatthewDiFazio
@MatthewDiFazio Күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! I certainly could! Depending on your budget, there’s quite a few options out there: For something nice yet still relatively affordable, Hart Audio makes some nice cloth, balanced 4.4mm IPX cables. I love Hart Audio, and definitely recommend them for all cable needs! For something a bit higher end and more premium, Effect Audio’s lineup accommodates IPX connections with their ConX kit. Therefore, you can get anything in their lineup and just pickup a ConX kit so you can swap from MMCX/2Pin/and IPX. I have an Eros S cable personally and I absolutely love it. Ares S is cheaper, and is actually really nice itself as well! I hope this helps :-)

@@MatthewDiFazio Dear Matthew, I can’t thank more on your detailed and professional recommendation. I’ve actually considered to order the custom IPX cable to Plus Sound Audio : Specifically X Series. However, Hart Audio seems quite attractive in price-wise. Effect Audio could be another solid choice in that I can use it for AKG N5005, Nice HCK Himalaya(I hope this to be reviewed in your channel😀), and Aspire4. I’ll be considering all three options down the road until Aspire 4 comes to me :) Please keep uploading review videos. I’ll stay tuned.📺

@BloomAudio
@BloomAudio 4 күн бұрын
I think you could look at DX180 in two ways: 1. as a "budget" high end player, 2. as a flagship/endgame version of a basic player. It's ultimately in the same class of devices as things like the Astell&Kern SP3000 (that retails for $3500), so it's "budget" if you're looking for that sort of device. But compared to some of the $100-$200 players out there, it will blow them away.

Does the white one get dirty easily?
@BloomAudio
@BloomAudio 4 күн бұрын
Surprisingly no. I think the off white color marks dirt and dust really well. One of our staff at Bloom has the Accentum Plus with the same white color, and it seems to mask dirt, dust, and general wear and tear actually better than similar black headphones.
@horii9700
@horii9700 4 күн бұрын
@@BloomAudio wow! Okay, cause i was really debating on the color. The white looks amazing but i was hesitant to buy it because i was afraid of it getting dirty and looking old easily than the black ones. So i was thinking maybe the black would be better than the white. So i guess white would be better than black then!

putting the portability aside, can the stack well compare to a dedicated desktop stack within the same price range? as r2r and tubes might be hard to find, delta sigma and solid state combos included. i am specially interested in the capabilities of soundstage depth (width not so much) and layering. would be nice, if someone who had the chance to compare could leave a word or two

This review definitely convinced me to buy one from Bloom. However, regarding the "look" he talked about at 3:00 (again around 3:30), it LOOKs great and definitely is a big change from earlier generations. However, I find it very uncomfortable and sharp-edged in my hand. Might just be me.

How are these for trance, rock/metal, pop, electronica, classical ect... ? I listen to a wide range of genres. I like detailed, wide, punchy and a little warm sound. It must be enganging and musical. Not Fatigue. And of course comfortable. The most comfort iems ive had, is the beyerdynamic xelento. A good iem. But to pricey

Great video man. Got mine coming today as a closed back alternative to the HD 6XX. I know they may not match up against the 6XX too well, but hopefully they're good enough to cancel out some sound. I've really struggled to find anything I like anywhere near as much as the 6XX for the sound. Thanks again!

Pineapple, pepperoni, and Jalapeño is an elite combo / Hip Hop ever so slightly better than metal depending on mode / Soccer all day / Torn between headphones or IEMs but going to lean more towards headphones since the SR3 are my current favorite / MOIST definitely the worse word !!!

Honestly speaking, SEA (South East Asia) made iem is on boutique side and their price tag astronomically on the summit level (Elysian, Subtronic, etc) so they are not belong in the Chi-fi category.

No, he doesn't mean every brand from Asia. He's specifically talking about the budget/value brands from Asia, not the premium brands. For example, AuR audio is a more budget/value focused company from Singapore. Penon is a more budget/value focused company from China. He isn't saying Chi-fi equals cheap, or Asia equal cheap. He's saying there are more emerging brands from Asia focused on budget/value, that's all. For example, Subtonic Storm was priced at $5,200, Cayin DAPs are astronomically priced premium offerings, Lotoo has one of the most recognized endgame DAPs, QDC has a $13,700 Sea Dragon IEM, Unique Melody's flagship is $8.5k and Amber Pearl is $8,000. He wasn't referring to any of these brands. He was actually just specifically talking about actual budget/value brands from Singapore, China, Malaysia, Philippines, etc.
@BloomAudio
@BloomAudio 8 күн бұрын
Yeah - to clarify, there's a huge range of brands coming out of China and SEA right now. Between brands from China, Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, etc. that I've demoed, it seems like there's a really good spread of high value and price/performance products, and more luxury/boutique type products, but even boutique brands like DITA and FATfreq seem to be able to deliver on their budget friendly products (like Project M or Maestro Mini.) On the other hand, many Western brands don't even offer anything under $500, and if they do, they're outclassed by Asian products at the same (or lower) price points.

@@or1on89 but if you listen to this review, that's basically not huge praise for the Alba. He said Alba is only for (1) if you have $50 IEMs at the moment, you can consider the Alba being an upgrade on the tech side (2) if you have better IEMs, get the Alba because you can rough it up or lose it outside instead of your better stuff. Also, I watched several other Alba reviews and they all say "good for the price" or "good for an IEM coming from Meze", etc. which are all very limiting praises. This review was actually kinda ruthless in comparison to those other hype reviews.

It's been a couple years since I've heard Jade, but this is much better balanced than I recall Jade being tonally (still on the bright end of the spectrum), dynamics are improved as well. The general impression around the office is that it's like a faster, more resolving Arya.
