No, Maurice does not contemplate them. I think Beneath does (I've only played a limited test game) but in any case it's a matter of metagame: my partner Lluís has dragons in his Catalan army, and it's sure that when we play he'll want to apply even as home rule.

Really nicely painted and based. Thank you for sharing. What is the paste you use for the feathers on the officers hat?
@MinisMyWay4 күн бұрын
It is a paste that comes prepared for DIY, to cover joints in tiles and cracks in plaster, but it is not plaster, when it dries it looks like plastic. According to the formula on the bottle it is composed of benzoisothiazolone and methylthiazolonecloromethylthiazolone (?) Some time ago I found myself without Green Stuff at hand and I tried it.... Although it's not a specific product for this, I've been using it for years for small touch-ups when I just need to sculpt small bumps without much shape, and I've never had any problems. Thank you for your comment!

The same day this video appears, the Kickstarter campaign for Battleground 1940: Blitzkrieg starts, with Henry Turner's figures that represent the different armies of the Early WWII: British & German STLs, designed for printing between 6-15mm scale, with the STLs being 6mm by default. A French army is available as an early stretch goal: www.kickstarter.com/projects/ageofadmirals/battleground-1940-blitzkrieg You have previously seen on this channel some videos about Henry Turner's 1:700 ship sculptures and their 8 mm AWI. I prefer the 15 mm scale, so I have printed and painted to this scale some of the STL's that Henry sent me. I have no knowledge about this period, and I'm a complete novice with 3D printers, so nobody take this video as a tutorial, please! I have used videos from these channels to locate information on British uniforms, I must thank them for their work making these subjects known in such detail and share them in case they can also be of help to you: www.youtube.com/@RiflemanMoore kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJyno6mZqK9mbqs www.youtube.com/@LivingHistoryUK kzbin.info/www/bejne/an-7mK1pr9SIaqc kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoacl4KihaymeKs www.youtube.com/@militarymad2840 kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3bSe6ZqftuFb7c www.youtube.com/@AbsoluteHistory kzbin.infoGvBcKm5t_go The sculptures have a very particular style, but this same style allows them to be painted very easily, making even the smallest details recognizable. Moreover, they can be printed almost without supports. I used Vidnoz's free AI for the voiceover.

Great job, Alex. What are you using for the ground texture? I have some 15mm Khazar I'll be painting for a tournament in November and I think they'll look good on that color base.
@MinisMyWay26 күн бұрын
Thank you very much! I admire that you can have an army painted by November, what speed! I have a video where I explain the details of the texture: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXm3mnaHmtunqJI I am using natural sand, it is calcareous soil that I get in the area where I live, so not everyone has easy access to this material although it is a type of terrain widespread throughout the world. It is more dusty, but the sand used to pave rural roads is very similar and could replace it. For the Sicilian army I am not using dyes, I leave the sand with its natural light color that makes the figures stand out against the background.
@theepicgamer580826 күн бұрын
@@MinisMyWay Ah, thanks. I have used soil a few times, after drying it out in the oven to kill anything organic in it. The stuff here is a medium/dark brown though so I'll likely have to go with something else. Yes, I'll really be pushing to finish the army. We'll see how I do. I'll likely post my progress on Lead Adventure Forum if you read that at all.

I really think you have something there with the rescaling to 15mm. Minis scaled in 15mm, resin or otherwise, tend to be a bit bulky. That's fine if you're gaming with all the same figures, but can look a bit wonky once out on the table. Your figures have held their form very in spite of the rescaling. Great idea and well done!!
@MinisMyWayАй бұрын
Yes, to make gaming miniatures it is common to exaggerate some features such as the size of hands and weapons so that they are distinguishable when seen from a distance, allow for casting metal into a mould, and do not break at the slightest touch. There are very good technical and aesthetic reasons for changing proportions when rescaling. But I have always liked realistically proportioned figures and 3D printing has allowed me to try it out. They look great up close, we'll see on the table! Thank you very much for your comment!

Alex, I am so jealous. After viewing the Crossbowman video, I meant to ask if you were now printing your own figs. Clearly you are! Congratulations! I am close to taking the plunge into the 3D printing world but haven't yet pulled the trigger. I believe my Winter project shall be a medieval army yet to be identified. I sure do like your printed 15s. It gave me a good look at scaling down from 28mm. Does it take experimenting and fine tuning to reach your finished project? Love the painting demos. I hope all is well! Chris

I think printer manufacturers base their business on the envy of those of us who do have printers! Yes, I bought a printer a few months ago because I didn't want to keep abusing my friend Teri and his machine, even though he has always been very nice and loves to print. But I don't print much, only what I'm going to paint and I'm still a novice in the subject, so I need two or three prints before I have the right settings, although once you get it right, any similar print comes out the first time. You have to be methodical. The problem with resin printers is not the difficulty of use per se, but the safety conditions that must be met as the fumes and contact are toxic, and getting a warm temperature in the enclosure at the same time. Thank you for your comment!

Continuing with the same army of the last video, a medieval Sicilian, I need some spearmen to complete some units that are half crossbowmen/half spearmen. I'll use Styriwar's figures from his Kickstarter “Divide et Impera”, just like I did with the crossbowmen: www.kickstarter.com/projects/styriwar/divide-et-impera-12th-century-wargaming-stl-files Again, I had to rescale the figures, as they are meant to be printed in 28 mm and I need them in 15 mm to play L'Art de la Guerre. #miniaturewargaming #miniaturepainting ======================================== I used Vidnoz AI for the narration. @@MinisMyWay Me alegro ! Una pregunta : de donde habéis sacado las cartas de características nacionales otomanas ?
@MinisMyWayАй бұрын

In this video I start a new project: a Sicilian feudal army for which I will use figures from Styriwar and Red Copper Miniatures, plus another surprise that I received from my gaming partner Lluís Vilalta who gave me some Almogàvares figures that he himself had painted. Wow! I want the army to play L'Art de la Guerre with 15 mm figures... But Styriwar's STLs are 28 mm so I've rescaled them to be 15 mm. They are from a Kickstarter campaign called "Divide et Impera" and are 12th Century figures. www.kickstarter.com/projects/styriwar/divide-et-impera-12th-century-wargaming-stl-files/description The STLs from Red Copper Miniatures are from an Arab army “Arab Conquest (622-750)” whose figures are both 28mm and 15mm so I had no problem printing them in 15 mm scale. redcopperminiaturess.gumroad.com/l/arabconquestarmypack?layout=profile Finally, Lluís's lead figures are Almogàvars of different provenances, predominantly Alain Touller, a now defunct sculptor, so they also have the value of being very hard to find relics, and which will allow me to move my army to the Sicilian 14th Century. More details in Lluís's Blog: soldadets.blogspot.com/2009/06/host-dalmogavers.html Although it may seem strange such a different mix of figures, it is not so much if you take into account that it can be easily expanded as the core of two different armies: a Crusader of Richard the Lionheart, and an Arab of the first expansion of Islam, and even other armies overlooking a little bit the anachronisms. I used Vidnoz AI for the narration.

Thanks for the tip. I paint the plastic models just like I paint the lead or resin ones, and for the deck and hull I like much better to do it separately and with more freedom of action with the brush. Although looking at other channels it seems I'm the only one who does it this way... but it works for me. On the other hand, the plastic rigs move a lot for flexibility held with a clamp as I do now, I will have to try your system at least for that. Thanks for your comment!
