I actually need some help. My Komboucha will not carbonate anymore when I put it in bottles with fruit and sugar.

@PepperAmmy8 күн бұрын
you can try but like making fermented hot sauces if using frozen you want to use some fresh peppers to help the ferment

Watch a video about making yeast from potatoes. Analyze the process of collecting the yeast from the atmosphere. Substitute black tea for potato. Results may vary, but that is the process of collecting a substance specific yeast from the atmosphere. Enjoy.

can you freeze the kombucha? To be on the safe side?
@PepperAmmy2 ай бұрын
Yes, you can freeze kombucha, but it's not recommended because it can negatively impact the beneficial bacteria and yeast cultures as low temps can kill them off if using for brewing your own it could lead to failed batches or lower quality final product

I wanna know how to make my own so by from scratch… not using a store bought kombucha
@PepperAmmy2 ай бұрын
without starter (kombucha) or a scoby your chances of this are very slim as you would need to make a sweet tea and leave it hoping is dose not form mold but a scoby on the surface its much safer and easier to get started with kombucha if you have a scoby or at least some premade kombucha

Is it ok to see condensation in your bottle of starter tea?

if you leave it somewhere warm and its sealed you will probably end up with some build up if its not too old or warm it should be fine

I would probably leave out the xanthum gum, and shake the bottle before I use it to combine the solids and liquids.

food coloring will work for coloring cake batter as long as you are not making chocolate obviously just add a few drops into the batter while mixing

Hi! So if the mold is just at the top and there are a lot of layers underneath the moldy part of the scoby, can I peel off the top and several layers underneath and use the lower parts?
@PepperAmmy7 ай бұрын
typically thats not how mold works there is more to it than what you can see ive had a batch ive tried this with and mold came straight back its why they dont recommend cutting moldy parts off bread and eating the rest the spores are alot deeper than surface level... by all means you can try it but there is a good chance it will come back
