Brings back memories when I used to drift for 25km straight from job back home in my beefed up beetle when the highway was covered in snow and no cars left in my way. I wouldn’t try it today though. Greetings from’another belgian e28 owner! You guys rock!

What have you done in regards to steering in your e28? Have you stuck with the original box or have you switched to a rack conversion?

It was just the original e28 system, never came around to a rack & pinion swap :)

The e24 M6 steering box has .5 less turn (if memory recalls) and it is a direct swap.

IMPORTANT: You were not able to adjust your clutch plate with the spec tool because you are missing the bearing in crankshaft, which is required in order to guide the shaft of the gearbox. It's a small bearing which is pressure-pushed inside the hole of the crankshaft. You didn't have it there, because you took the engine from automatic version, manuals require it. I highly recommend you to install it, because the shaft of the gearbox will have a major stress on it without it. Part number (bearing) - 11211720310

Hi there. Thanks for pointing that out! I actually drove the car without the bearing for 1.5 years, multiple track and drift events and it did survive all that! There was a weird noise coming from the clutch assembly and i never figured out where it came from. Might have something to do with it!

@@tibro2853 I didn't notice that the video is 2 years old, I just saw that it aired on 5th april so I thought it's this year :D But after commenting I noticed that you have a bunch of videos and this one was old :D. However I'm also building a E28 and also swapping engines. I myself am doing a m52b28tu swap. I have almost everything prepared, but I'don't like that fact that the gearbox tunnel of the e28 is so small, my zf gearbox barely fits there. Maybe I'll go with the getrag gearbox, but not sure if it's really that smaller in size. Maybe I should go with a m20 gearbox, but I think the bolt pattern differs from m52. But yea, I'll figure something out :D

Yeah i think it's a better suited chassis for drifting at this stage. But when i'm better at fabricating and welding and stuff i will 100% go back to an e28 🤘

Nice video. Not too many of these on KZbin. A tip to put the seal in (not just this seal - any other as well) is to put it in the freezer until just before you put it in. It will have shrunk and go in more easily and evenly.

Cool video! Did you like Weeze better than Midland? Never been, but it's definitely on the list!

They are totally different tracks. Weeze little bit more speed but very slippery. Technically a lot more difficult then Midland. Midland is better to learn tandems is think since all the turns are long consistant sweepers and the track is more grippy. The downside here is that it's not a full lap but a course with a start and a finish unlike weeze where you go non stop for 20 minutes
