This video was super helpful, thank you! As an autistic person with social anxiety, I am insanely socially awkward. I often freeze up or stumble over words lol, but it was nice to have someone to relate to :)

grunge was not a fashion/clothing movement anyway. it was a music genre, unless you were there you're not grunge in any way.

I can totally feel it. Those dark times when we somehow found joy in sharing and looking at those pictures... It's strange to feel nostalgic about that sadness, but it was such a big part of my childhood/teenagehood

Thank you for your video I love Nirvana and have become very interested in grunge clothes but now that you have informed me about the foundation and meaning of the culture I am in love. Growing up I never liked or cared for what everyone else liked to wear and thought was beautiful I liked doing my own thing which for a while was goth but once I was grown it didn't really feel like me then I found grunge and it feels right baggy clothes, comfortable,free from beauty standards and expectations. No one caring about what everyone else is wearing or thinks, not having to be polished like some doll. I feel happy and free now🥰🤟

I've seen viciously lgbtphobic people call themselves Goth like just because you 'look the part' doesnt mean you can associate with the subculture[s] if you actively go against core beliefs

I barely watched the video and already gave it a like! This is our corner. A lot of us have been misled by the media...and college is nothing like what we thought it would be. I didn't go to a college with a dorm...I went to a community college, everyone was pretty reserved, it was easy to make friends but the friendships didnt last

This is so fun! I love your fashion content! Yes to all the trends you showed!! Real quick I checked spring 2025 runway fashion trends and I feel like these additional three are kinda alt fashion adaptive: plaid, stripes, and sheer. In the case of sheer, I was thinking more like fishnet and mesh baselayers. What are your thoughts? Thanks for posting on this topic!!! 🩵🩵🩵

To me I think stripes, plaid, and sheer are timeless and could always work with an outfit, I'm especially a big fan of plaid and also sheer... Anything mesh or fishnet will always be a yes from me!! Thanks for watching! ❤️

I love a corporate goth look. Also, I agree with what you said for the "clean goth"aesthethic: it just looks like a daily life goth. It doesn't have to be complicated.

College is nothing like the movies, I’m a junior no friends, never had a relationship I’ve approached people in college and out of college never managed to make friends, most of my life I was alone and suppressed my emotions, growing up in a household filled with problems it was never a safe environment to talk about my problems my own cousins who live in the same state as me and are local don’t wanna do anything with me, I’ve attempted suicide once and now I just dwell on suicidal ideation because I know I’ll die alone and never make friends never have a relationship

would you consider the "adult content ban" in december of 2018 to be the final nail in the coffin of the already dying tumblr soft grunge sad girl? cause i remember it was still a thing after 2017 too, maybe not as huge but still a thing until like, the very end of the year of 2018
@posergrave
@posergrave Ай бұрын
yeah, definitely. It maybe wasn't as trendy by that time but grunge sad girl blogs were still active until the adult content ban, in which most blogs I followed at the time went dark, and the trend kinda died with the website

@posergrave tbh the majority of the blogs there rn are mostly "revival" blogs of the era but i doubt that they would manage to revive the aesthetic to its previous glory so to speak lol and grow it past that more polished, nostalgic frame. but honestly? good! not complaining at all lol, the visuals were fire and its nice to enjoy them without all the negative junk associated with it, esp from a more mature, unrelatable anymore, perspective

This is exactly what I want. To have a homebase. Do you mind sharing how you found the place, the costs involved in getting it, and the permits you needed to be able to park there in your RV? Also, curious how you find your exact land lines when/if you do decide to build a fence.
@posergrave
@posergrave Ай бұрын
I think we first found out about land in the area from a guy on KZbin, then we checked online & drove around the area a lot taking pics of realtor signs on lots of land. Land was 12k, and property tax each year but it's cheap- under $100. My bf handled the permit but it was easy to get, also will vary per area. For the land lines you need a "survey"- guy comes out and professionally marks the lines- but I've heard most people don't do this, they just estimate. (I can make a more in-depth video on all this!)

@@posergrave I think a video like that would be cool. I know a lot of people want to do this, exactly what you are doing (like myself) but it's always the little details that keep us from knowing where to start. I jumped feet first into car camping at one point last year, and was super excited but then ended up having to squash the plan because of unexpected family obligations that kept me in the sticks and bricks. I know when I do it again i want to be a lil more prepared as far as knowledge wise, but also would really rather have a homebase so Im not constantly worried about where to park. Thanks so much for the reply and the info!!
