What exactly is Mark's guitar? Is it a hybrid of lute/therabo/guitar? Incredible tone in every register.

Just got introduced to Matthew Dunne from npr. It just played a beautiful song composed by him and I cannot find it anywhere. Something from the 2000's and it was played by the UTSA quartet. Capuccino i think it was called?

Enhorabuena maestro. Suena estupendamente. Escucharle es como hacer un viaje a la época barroca.

Excellent! Played with the seriousness and lack of sentimentality that makes the interpretation of this music genuine. (I would use the Swedish word ”allvar” here.)

Great playing Mark. It's a great instrument. I want to switch to a 10 string guitar. Do You think, the Spanish music by Albeniz or Granados can be played on it?
@markbuenoguitar Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Check out Narciso Yepes.

@@markbuenoguitar Hi Mark, it's Jack again. So we can play Albeniz and Granados on a 10 string. I saw Yepes a long time ago on TV, in concert. I don't remember if he was fretting any notes on the extra bass strings? I know we don't have to do it, just play it straight. But, would it be a good idea to adapt the baseline to the multistring guitar?

Can it be tuned like this( from highest to lowest) e b g d a e… (that is like all guitars) then c b g f d c… also I’m wondering… you know how on the harp they don’t have chromatic notes but they use a little pedal to make the notes go up a half tone… do it seems to me that that would be an awesome thing to have on the supplementary bass strings. Perhaps also if you had an additional string tuned to A as the highest string. Does this sound too crazy? I daydream a lot. For the pedals to chromatisize you could perhaps employ something that works mechanically like the brakes of a bycicle. This instrument would be like a parallel to the arc lute which has 14 strings. I’ve put in my 10,000 hours of practice in both the classical guitar and classical organ. The idea of being able to play my favorite organ peices on a guitar like instrument is very appealing. You might have to find some kind of mechanical wizard for the pedal chromatic thing. Dreamers make history, but sometimes we just dream and that’s all..
