Honestly it’s quite therapeutic once you get the hang of it. It’s a step above Fruil metal tracks and definitely better than link and length or rubber band ones. These have the right sag to them.

Nice kit. But ! Many modelers can no longer afford kits for 100 dollars and more. The crisis and inflation take all the income, and there is not enough money to buy models. Sorry.

I don’t doubt it and you don’t have to apologize to me. Such is the eb and flow of the economy. During times of recession people have less money to spend on recreational items as opposed to when times are good. Not the first time it’s happened and it certainly won’t be the last. Hehe.

This is the early Il-2 (Single seater). Zvezda also produce the early 2 seater, a conversion with a rear gunner position.. Tamiya's kit is the later 2 seater, with a factory designed rear gunner position. Zvezda also made a very nice Sukhoi Su-2, the "other Sturmovk" that preceeded the Il-2. They also produce a Petlyakov Pe-2, the stard twin engined attack bomber after 1942.
@EusiWorkshop

My understanding was this is the newest release out of all of them that's why I got it. I'll check out the Su-2 and possibly the Pe-2 depending on how this one goes. I must admit soviet WW2 aircraft are as far out of my wheel house as it can get but we shall see how this goes. hehe. Thanks!

Hi there I have built a few ships in 1:350 scale (including Yamato) and I would probably label myself as an “developed beginner” would you recommend this?
@EusiWorkshop
@EusiWorkshop 11 ай бұрын
Heya. Yes I would. Realistically unless you are getting a ton of aftermarket PE and other details the only thing that separates ship kits is the piece counts which doesn’t necessarily make the build harder just longer / shorter based on the piece count. So if it’s a subject you’re interested in I’d say definitely go for it as you shouldn’t have any issues with it.

Great video but im pretty disappointed with this kit, specifically the fit issues. Having a difficult time with the suspension. I glued the arms in place as per the instructions...plus it didn't come with the track assembly ( just the rubber kind) I may just buy the Tamiya one and part out this one...not sure.
@EusiWorkshop

Oh interesting they are selling them with rubber tracks now? That’s a crappy attempt at saving money. Having started building a Takom kit a couple of weeks ago, it dawned on me. Meng is the modern Dragon Models, while Takom is the modern Tamiya.

Got the 1/48 Hind sitting on my desk now, waiting for me to figure out what to do with the colours. It's Zvezda kit. I tried modelling it in flight, and it's got the world's most well ventilated cockpit. Didn't know how to fix that, so my hope is that the primer and airbrush didn't get in there and ruin the cockpit. Curiously I have an old Italeri 1/48 Apache. That thing is odd! The instructions call for an open cockpit, but the rotorblades are bending upwards as if in-flight. Again tried to model it as in-flight. Not as well-ventilated as the Hind, but still...

I have the 1/72 Hobbyboss one in my stash which I figured I’d use as a warm up before this one. Far as colors go I’m thinking the classic Soviet camo, although being Polish, part of me wants to do it in Polish colors, was also thinking about a Ukrainian one. Far as thag well ventilated cockpit, oooof, here’s hoping. Lol. I have the 1/72 Academy Apache which is also as old as the Italeri if not older but a very nice kit. The Italeri one I think is the ancient Hasegawa rebox although I could be wrong. I really want one of the 1/35 Apaches from Meng or Takom or whoever it is. Also want the 1/48 Viper from Kitty Hawk. The shape of the cobra makes it by far my favorite helicopter and the viper being so much beefier looks twice as mean.

The turrets on the trumpeter one also seems..."fatter" than the academy one. Also Trumpeter is 1942 and Academy is 1943, so some of the differences could be down to refits/repairs/upgrades. There's probably also a bit of inaccuracy in the source material they have available. I'm going for the Academy one, it sounds like it's the better fit for my skills.
@EusiWorkshop
@EusiWorkshop Жыл бұрын
I agree with you. I was actually thinking which one I would rather build and I think it's the Academy as well. I've had terrible experiences with other Trumpter 1/350 scale ships so Academy would be my starting point as well.

Thank you! One of the few bonuses of having a large stash is you forget how good a kit can be after years of not opening it. This one was a real treat. I hate 1.72 aswell but I was curious when saw them new Vespid Kit's my mate showed me a comet and Panther they have the same amount of sprues as a 1.35 kit amd brass barrels.and 3D printed mantlet covers and in the panther 3D Printed IR night vision and metal brass barrels for 20 bucks! nothing Moulded on to the hulls all tools n cables separate and link and length track's! It's something I think I'll be grabbing a couple more of and doing a table top diorama with them as perfect sizes for wee things like that honestly there just unbelievable so crisp detail but they would never tare me away from 1.35 that's for sure! but yeah they are definitely getting better the 72nd scale and good on them to give the smaller scale guys something to match what we have like them new 1.48 panther's n Takoms tigers least the smaller guys are getting something decent now!

whare did you get the stowage for this build? I'm building this new I love kit JLTV it's fought me all the way! can't wait to get the Rye field one it'll be a lovely build amd same price no doubt! I've spent a good 50 bucks on this £70 kit just getting ot up to par really with 3D printed 50 cals and radio sets brass UHF antennas new wheels as tyres are to big I think I've got mine dropped as you see them alot when firing or tied down they look so smart when sitting in the bumpstops but the tyres in the kit were to bulky compared to the DEF resin wheels! they put the same tyres in the box from the Hemtt oshkosh think they'll be abit bigger in real life to than what's on the JLTVs maybe not bit definitely is in the kit! it's been horrible to put together after painting up the subsections it's designed like the afv clubs husky but doesn't go together like the afv club kit lol
@EusiWorkshop
@EusiWorkshop Жыл бұрын
Haha yup I feel you on how horrible the subsections were not only to paint but to glue afterwards. I did all the TUSK details separately and the stowage took longer than the actual model to paint. That said I don’t remember the company that the stowage came from other than it was eBay. I’m going to see if I can find the box from it and get back to you, but it was a resin kit from eBay.

100% much better airbrush than the H&s by far anyway! AKs 3rd Gen paints are much better for brush painting there nice and thick pigment ammos paints are the same as the AKs thinned to much in bottle for the airbrush if your going back in touching up or brush chipping! scale.75 and AKs 3rd Gens are the best for that and the white label Vallejo but most of them are not bad for brush painting AK and Ammos though I know exactly what you mean! the edges dry n get more painting than the middle it like pool's and runs to the edge n drys that way!

Wonderful comparison! It's true that companies do not have standard brush sizes or shapes, so really any two companies you compare would probably be sized/shaped a bit differently. Rosemary may make the brushes thinner because they actually disperse the paint better, as you showed? I won't buy brushes from anyone else now. I can't get the kolinsky because of import restrictions to the US, but I've compared her red sable to another kolinsky I have and basically can't tell the difference -- except the kolinsky may point a bit better. They spread the paint just the same though!

@jennw6809
@jennw6809 2 жыл бұрын
@@EusiWorkshop You can still get W&N Series 7s and other kolinsky from big manufacturers, but for some weird reason, Rosemary cannot ship their brushes to individuals here in the US. There is some kind of misguided thing where kolinsky has been erroneously thrown into the endangered category. But since that's true I don't understand why all the big manufacturers can import theirs?? I definitely noticed the light weight of Rosemary's brush handles right away. I imagine the brush size and weight would be critical for what you do with miniatures. I'm a watercolorist and paint large & loose with huge brushes, so I'm able to adapt to various handles. But I do understand those who paint detailed watercolors, like florals or animals, sometimes love lighter weight brushes, so their hands don't tire. I have a Trekell size 14 kolinsky (sadly, they discontinued them) and although the size of the handles seem identical to Rosemary, they must have used a denser wood because it was noticeably heavier. Thanks for the nice video!

@EusiWorkshop
@EusiWorkshop 2 жыл бұрын
Oh I definitely have. Depends where you buy it from and how old it is. I’ve stopped buying them online just because I can’t see them ahead of time. Rather pay the couple of extra bucks at my local art store so I can look at them before hand. Has nothing to do with W&N quality control. Just how they’re stored, transported, and how old they are. Although I’m sure some of it may be quality control as well. Lol
@EusiWorkshop
@EusiWorkshop 2 жыл бұрын
In my opinion it’s just something you have to look at before you buy it. It’s sable so it can get messed up during production, transport, or storage. Given the hefty price I’d rather see them before I buy them. It’s the weight and the brush thickness I like most with W&N but as I mention in the review I may just be biased because of how long I’ve been using them for, how used to them I am and how thick the actual brush is. From what I remember then come with pins and connectors. You glue the connector side together but don’t glue the actual pins in place so the tracks are still workable. I’m sorry if this is false, it’s been almost two years since I’ve built this, and my memory isn’t the best.
