I would normally choose 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' as perhaps the pinnacle of the greatest ever recorded rock music track, but I think this tune just about takes that top spot. There is not a single note, vocal or anything you can possibly fault with this. This really is Yes at their absolute best - just mind blowing, an out of body other worldly experience.

I am 63 years young, I was first introduced to Yes; when I heard long Distance Runaround and I’ve Seen all good people when I was starting high school. And until today and as long as I live Yes songs will transcend me to places in my mind I could not reach without them. Awaken allows me to reach these spiritual places every time I listen. I remember taping this off the radio onto my reel to reel in 1977 and the station decided to put their identification into the song. Had that copy for years. Seen it performed twice live and I listen to it all the time. I just created a playlist with every version I could locate. Mind blown.
