The Iron & Wine version is my favorite song of all time. When you make a perfect song, perfect covers exist.

Saw him live for the first time the other day. I was really hoping he'd play this as it was the first song I ever heard by him. But he went through the entire setlist and I thought "Oh well, this was still an amazing show" and he got up and left the stage at the end. Then he runs back out with his backups and starts playing this as an encore and I could not stop crying.

Came back to this after a few years... and holy fuck this hits me like a freight train of unreleased emotions. This never fails to get me to cry man. Love it

Heard him play this tonight at the Mt Baker Theater, it was hauntingly beautiful. The lighting and smoke machine accompanied with the song gave the effect of being in the clouds. Unbelievable artist and I'm honored I got to see this concert tonight, thank you Mom, what a wonderful birthday present ❤

I can’t listen to this song without weeping. “The trapeze act was wonderful but never meant to last,”I’ll tell her when she’s telling me goodbye to let her know I understand. “Your misery will lose you all you ever wanted.” I’m going to tell my brother that one day. He won’t get it, sadly.
