For some reason, I thought Jerry Clower did this one.

I got sent to human resources for telling this joke! The HR director said she had 2 people tell her the joke and she didn't find it funny at all. I said maybe they didn't tell it right and go ahead, fire me...

I spent many nights on the road listening to Charlie Douglas and the "Road Gang" radio show . I always enjoyed listening to his stories . And , they always made the nights pass a little faster . That's about one of the few things that I really miss about being on the road .

I spent a lot of nights on the road listening to Mr. Douglas , and the "All Night Road Show." He made those trips more bearable by keeping the night alive with his stories .

I've been listening to his stories since I was on the road back in 1974 . I used to listen to the "Charlie Douglas Road Gang" show nearly every night that I was on the road . This routine was one of the first ones I heard. I was on the way to McAllen , Texas , and , I laughed so hard at this story , I almost wrecked the truck !! I still play Charlie's recordings every now and then just for the memories. Thank you Mr. Douglas for all the happy miles you gave me . ❤🚛

This brings back memories. I grew up around the trucking industry in the early 70's. My dad was a independent owner operator. Gene was the most popular among the drivers. See, this was before Petro's & Pilot's. When a Lotta small mom & pop truckstops, had clubs attached to the building. That'd open up at nights. Or they'd be nearby somewhere. He'd tour around these places and sell his shows on 8 track.

By the way, in order to get those shorts so flawless looking, they had to shove a piece of cardboard down the front. Not even a ripple from the actual genitalia showed through.

I am a Retired Policeman. In the late 70's I was partnered with a Old Timer Officer. I did think "Ray O Stout" and I would make much of a team. One cold snowy night I had to walk a foot beat for 4 hours, I got into the Police car with Ray Stout and he was listening to WSB radio out of Atlanta on the AM dial, signal would fade out for a second and crackling, but was able to listen. Ray Stout looked at me and said You look Cold Kid, You just sit back, drink some coffee and I'll take care of you tonight. Next thing I remembered Charlie Douglas came on the radio, saluting all the truckers all over the South. After about 15 minutes of this salute, Mr. Douglas started telling the story of "Damn it Ray". I laughed so hard, I shot coffee out of my nose while on patrol with Officer Ray O. Stout. Ray was a great guy and taught me some important lessons. Some day after I pass onto the next life, I hope to meet up with Ray O. Stout again and share a couple more shifts. I am saluting Ray O. Stout with another cup of coffee, I'll try and keep this One in my mouth. RIP Ray O. Stout. Signed: A Grateful Partner.

Brent Do you have some information you could send me on Popham and the Popham Colony. I have been doing my own family tree with researchers, multiple sources and even DNA and have found that George Popham (Captain of the Gift of God and President of Popham Colony) was my 1st Cousin 12 times removed. Thanks in Advance. One day I hope to visit across the Pond and visit areas of Ancestral History. Thanks Kris
