1 Tim. 1:15-16 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners-of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.

"We want to govern ourselves." Wherever you fall on the spectrum (political, philosophical, ethical, religious).....I’d like to see more intellectual and moral consistency from those who want absolute autonomy, agency, and want to be their own authority. If you want that level of freedom you have to take all that comes with it. It becomes a problem for me when you separate rights and responsibilities, as if they don’t go together. Many people want the rights that come with freedom but not the responsibilities that come with freedom.

Even if it is a form of failure by other metrics, if you are doing God's will for your life, then you are a success. God's word is the standard, the measuring stick, the guide, everything. You can still be successful by the world's standards and fail where it matters most.

1 Peter 1:7 - These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold-though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

How we deal with our anger: 1) Turn to the Lord (come to the Lord first, but if you didn't, it's never too late to come to God) 2) Complain to God (be honest and bring your complaints and grievances to God) 3) Appeal to the Lord (pray for the Lord to intervene and bring justice) 4) Confess your trust in God (put your trust in God and express your trust to Him in prayer) Remember: 42:57-47:52

Every parent knows their child. I just KNOW God loves it when Beth complains 😂 because when I do it's actually a demonstration/expression of faith.😂 When I don't complain about something I'm upset about it's because I don't even have the faith to pray about it or the trust to bring it to Him. I think... why bother? Sometimes, I'll think like that, but when my faith and trust is where it should be, I do take my complaints to God.

I love that God is a God of justice. It's one of my favorite attributes of Him. It's one of the things that helps me keep going...... to keep fighting certain things I see around me, but, I've also accepted that I'm not going to see justice perfected in every situation, in this lifetime. This is hard to accept because when you see an evil you can't look away and do nothing, but at the same time you know that you don't have the power to change a corrupt system or sinful situation. So some of us also really need to pray for peace in our minds and hearts, when we know we can't change an unjust situation and we've tried....worn ourselves out and broken our bodies down trying...... I did that when I worked with children in the American foster care system. I just had to pray for peace in my heart and peace in my mind. People do not care, not even the ones who are paid to care. I'm so thankful to serve a God who truly cares. Asante Yesu ❤️but..... Jesus....I reeeeeally want that Justice served in my lifetime.

If we want to appropriate the healing God has for us, we need to be willing to acknowledge our pain and bring it to him. I know people who still act like their traumatic experiences have not adversely affected them. We are not robots, we are human beings and our life experiences will alter us for better or worse. We need to bring things to God so that we can be restored and so that our pain can be redeemed for God's glory.

People don't have enough reverence for God anymore. They're always lying on Him! I'm tired of people saying "God told me" or some variation of it. How is it that God speaks to you even more than he spoke to all His prophets? "God told me" - NO, brother, you told you. "God spoke to me and said" - NO, sis, that was your flesh speaking to you. That was all you baby. Just go out there and do whatever you have already decided to do; don't slap Jesus' name on it to validate the choice you have already made. Don't lie on God. Unless you're working through your repentance or some part of your faith journey, leave His name out of your mess.

@PastorDaniel773 ай бұрын
LOL. I hear you, Beth. This is hard. I fall short of this even after preaching on it. All joking aside, using your imagination is a good start. Imagine having conversations with people with your differ politically. Imagine how you can maintain your integrity and be wise and winsome.
11:08 - 13:37 Pastor Daniel uses Jesus as the example/case study here, but it immediately made me think of his ancestor Leah and the way God worked out all her pain for good. Only in heaven/eternity will she see her legacy through the sons God gave her. She had no way of knowing in her present suffering and pain how blessed she was by God. She had no way of knowing in the present life of her legacy through her son Levi (the father of the tribe of Israel who had the honor of serving the Lord in the tabernacle and temple, from which the Levitical priesthood and Moses came from). She had no way of knowing in the present life of her legacy through her son Judah (the father of the lineage that would include King David and eventually Jesus). I know there were times her situation and circumstances in life made her feel diminished and insignificant, but her life was so significant and impactful. She spent a lifetime being unloved but her life and legacy produced the life of a man who brought perfect love to the whole world, Jesus. A plain and ordinary woman, but God's divine plan for her was more than that, and could never be limited by her circumstances, social status, or standing in life. Like Pastor Daniel said, there's just some things we won't know on this side of heaven that are working out for our good and God's glory.
