start the video with "men just do whatever the hell they want" and than describe examples of men who got dumped on based on what they were wearing. i mean the statement mostly work if doing whatever they want is wearing clothes that wouldn't look out of place if they went out for a loaf of bread at a supermarket. even the example they give(Prince) wore clothes that would come across as conservative on a 2024 female pop star. "if she wears too much she is a prude" where is the people saying that about women? Billie Eilish literally had to tell people to stop praising her for being a female singer who deosn't show a lot of skin(due to her own insecurity and the fact that she was underage). similar thing with the Bailey sisters before they started going all out with that kind of image(again: because one of them was underage) and their old fans got disapointed because they became too much like other female singers(both in terms of apperance and sound). i think plenty of people wouldn't mind the option of getting away from the oversexualised default that is modern pop music and ffs, there are more things to sing about than stages of a romantic relationship and the fact that you want to bang. metal bands manage just fine with the average of less than one(intimate. that includes songs about going to bed with poeple) relationship related song per album(in fact there are plenty who have none). but when it comes to the mainstream, apperently topics outside those things aren't a universal enough experience.

Your understanding of objectification and misogyny is pathetic. You put such misogynistic music at the top of your chart and then wonder why women don't have rights anymore in your degenerate country.

We just saw Judah & the Lion in Omaha a few days ago. We've loved the band for a long time but this was our first opportunity to see them live and one of our first reactions to each other was "He really cares about interacting with everyone in the room" - I thoroughly enjoyed the goofiness and quirkiness of the performance as well. My husband and I CANNOT wait to see them again and could watch them in concert for HOURS. Fans for life! 😊 And now we get this incredible conversation?! Connection is truly such a powerful part of their music. So many songs have left me feeling less alone. Thank you for your contribution to music and humanity, Judah; Your songs are making an enormous positive impact to many!! The openness and vulnerability of this conversation was so beautiful - Thank you to all three of you! 💜

As far as Jk goes, for me it's not about wanting to keep him a baby but just the opposite. He thinks singing about fkng and consensual mysogyny is cool, mature and sexy. He has been babied far too much not only by the members but by the fandom. They keep saying "he's a grown man" yet defend him as if he's still 15. He perpetuates it with the fake "im so innocent" interviews then overcompensates with singing about fkng. The one good thing about this terrible era in his music is the leopard finally showed its spots. He puts off so many red flags of being a Narcissist that I'm surprised more people haven't caught on yet. Him and JH are acting like spoiled middle school bullies and whoever finds that sexy and mature is a pick me immature clueless twit.

I'm part of the 4th section of ARMY. I initially was not into this group at all because I thought they were just more sexy fluff with no substance. It wasn't until I saw their messaging and true personalities that changed my mind and I became a fan in 2019. Then I didn't care about the sexy stuff because it was just a small part of their whole. I definitely wasn't rewinding any sexy choreo like the more hormone-driven ARMY and I sure as shit wasn't tolerating any toxic fan fic. Anyway -- I have no problems with the guys being men -- having girlfriends, being sexy, being themselves, what have you. Like you said, it would be weird for them to still act like children. But I feel, tbh, that JK is trying too hard to prove he's not a child a la Miley Cyrus, and it's a bad look that honestly makes him look like... a child. One who thinks that being an adult means tossing out basic songs about girls and f*cking. I mean... yawn. Which is whatever, I just don't listen to it. BUT my actual issue -- and the reason I can't get behind his recent songs like Seven -- is that they are conflating respectful sex with "f*cking." That word is only ever used in a negative way to harm, humiliate, or downplay anything respectful. I can't tell if he even knows that is the true definition of the word because of the way it gets thrown around by western "artists" who I honestly think are trash. Sorry, not sorry. It seems an entire generation has been fooled into thinking sex and f*cking are one and the same. F*cking is reserved for side pieces, one-night-stands, or people you don't really even like, and is never ever used in a respectful way. So for a song to be all about caring for someone and then to toss that in is just...gross to me. For the same guy who wrote Magic Shop to put out a message like that to a generation of people depressed af about the objectification and misogyny destroying mental health these days was...way more disappointing than I can articulate in a YT post. I still appreciate JK. I still think he has more in him. I'm just waiting for this phase to be over.
@endoraismygma Жыл бұрын
I feel the same except for still respecting Jk. Is he talented still? Sure but unless he apologizes and owns up to this garbage, I want no part of him or BTS anymore. Imo all the other members have been feeding his Narcissism by being his flying monkeys. Perhaps unknowingly but it's a big no for me. I'm definitely not Army anymore either as it's too cultish. They keep saying "he's a grown man" (you and I both know he isn't) yet defend him and his behavior as if he's still 15. They want it both ways and that just doesn't work for me. I have a daughter and granddaughter to think about.
@Anne-pd2hk Жыл бұрын
@@endoraismygma Yeah, it's definitely tainted the song Begin for me, and all the interviews about them raising JK to be who he is... As a parent, I'd be so disappointed if my kid went off the rails like this and just be waiting for them to come to their senses. Then again, I was an idiot in my 20s, too, lol. And i certainly bought into the toxic messages about exploitation equalling empowerment that girls were force-fed starting in the 90s. But then, after being treated like a piece of meat enough times, you wake up one day and have zero tolerance for it. I just feel bad for younger generations who think this is normal and healthy (despite every warning of every reputable psychologist ever). Sigh

we obviously listened to the clips that were pertinent to this discussion. we're not going to listen to the full episode for no reason. if you did absolutely any research on our podcast before attacking us you would see that we have discussed Matty Healy in critical but positive light multiple times before
@aquabonsu1 Жыл бұрын
Matty is responsible for what he does (and it wasn't a nazi salute) not how you choose to see it. When people imitate accents it's racist now, we do southern accents, English, Australian, Scottish but Japanese is where you draw the line??? I am black with an accent and beg to differ. I am just glad you have less than 1K follows coz this is just dangerous spread of misinformation.

I am wondering if I should continue watching this coz you guys are running an hour-long plus podcast while poorly researched. But for a start, have you listed to the ice spice interview...it's an American accent and Matty is seriously English, he laughed but he did not diss Ice spice. Also have you done any research on the Dubai incident coz he personally followed up with the fan and he said it was the happiest day of his life!! Please tell us what the antisemitic and homophobic things he has said/done.... This reminds me on the attacks on Johnni Depp etc. people throw stones first then get to the facts later. There is so much info on the context of these things and also those he didn't do. And coming from his "fans" is even more disappointing. I am black and queer, and I don't understand the outrage. this argument separates people who research/critical skills and those who don't. It's dangerous to spread misinformation against one person.
@Name3Songs Жыл бұрын
Just because the fan in Dubai did enjoy the moment, which of course they did, does not negate the fact that said fan could've faced jail time or worse for that moment. It was something Matty did to push a line without thinking of how it could negatively effect the other person who was a citizen of the country and would face potentially harsher repercussions for it
@Name3Songs Жыл бұрын
But the fact that you think that Johnny Depp was found not guilty of abuse proves enough that you personally don't do research or have critical thinking skills yourself. Also doing an ACT of antisemetism doesn't make a person wholly antisemetic, I don't believe Matty has hatred towards Jews, but that doesn't mean he hasn't taken part in posting antisemetic memes to his old Instagram or doing an insinuated Nazi salute during a portion of a song that contextually him thinking it would be ok to do that, would happen
@dilafng Жыл бұрын
Wow. Judgy much? JD WAS found not guilty of abuse. That’s a fact-the jury found him Not Guilty. I watched the trial. AH was clearly a lying liar who lies. As for TS and MH, they are both brilliant lyricists and entertainers. Why are they required to be activists as well? Interesting discussion, but I would challenge you to be a wee bit less judgmental.

Harry said, “bisexual me? I’m pretty sure I’m not”. Harry had a gold star on his phone case. He never acknowledges any of his gf, except when he had no choice in the Zane Lowe interview. He reads a fan sign that reads, ‘I’m gay and I love you’ and pauses after saying “I’m gay” with a smirk on his face. Please read between the lines of what he is actually telling us.
@threeangels9318 Жыл бұрын
Harry was being ‘coy’ about the women he ‘dated’ because he actually wasn’t dating them. Even from the beginning of 1D it was obvious, if you payed attention, that Harry was not into women. He’s now practically screaming how he identifies but not everyone is listening.

I’m pretty sure he was given the womanizer image, into older women, to hide that he isn’t actually sexually attracted to women.

Agree, showing affection between two guys is normal. Is it normal for one friend to have a butt plug in while their friend uses the remote to give them a ‘reaction’? Check out the Nokia interview and 1D on Jimmy Fallon in 2014, singing a Christmas song. Happens here, both times, between Louis and Harry.

Ladies, we're not used enough to being objective as sex objects. The general public considers this unusual. Random women like you two don't catcall men on the street like we often do. This is the reality social media has put celebs in. An average man like would be used to being lusted over. Celebs have gotten used to it and it's uncomfortable. As a straight male, there's the contrast.
@francofirpo13092 жыл бұрын
This interview was very off-putting. She attacked Ariana for wearing sports wear but doing it in a sexy way so that it "appeals to a male gaze" while also admitting that she tells her female clients not to express their own sexuality and freedom after a break up, because they will regret it later. Like why is she penalising women for wanting to be sexy for whatever reason? Also I don't think Billy Elish is famous because she looks like most girls. A huge part of her audience are white heterosexual men and they worship her beauty and attitude, just like they did when Avril Lavigne debuted in the music industry. Of course white straight men are not going to care for a Britney-alike´s music career.
