I’ve always thought Barber’s Adagio / Agnes Dei was the most beautiful, haunting, sorrowful, and profound piece of music ever written. So much longing and loss in the music, the tension and release of chord modulations always brings tears to my eyes. This is probably the most masterful rendition I have heard yet, such incredible range and clarity in each note. Well done.

I guess this is the best example of “to make a painting with music”. It’s all audio but I can clearly see the bird flying on top of a clear lake on a hill under a clear sky, along with the breeze flowing through the pine trees and a hint of the sweet scent of the flowers on the hills.

This Vocal Rang Seems Impossible

Being totally honest. Not since I first heard this ending at Diana’s funeral… have I finally found the incredible blending of voices to give proper sonics to this crescendo ending of Song for Athene. How the bass and soprano hold that final note during the final lyrics of the song. THAT along with the high tenor and soprano punching through “prepare for you”…. Wow. I wish there was a choir rendition that came as close to your balanced voices. The choir at Diana’s funeral nailed it. And so have you, sir. Fantastic job.

Im a bass, so Im happy that you did this part for this song, but I wish there was a dominant Tenor 1 and 2 part to help the others in my choir because the other ones sing weird like as if they were a knight from the Medieval age
