Kathy, I hand quilted around the petals of a flower because it was too hard for me to see those lines using my machine.

Remember that you only go thru the next layer underneath. Not thru multiple layers . Also you just have to pick up a couple threads in the fold over. I turn my edges on a small cutting mat. If needle needs encouragement….then I just use my cutting map to push on the threaded end. Hope that helps.

I’ve tried this method of appliqué and found that I had trouble getting the needle through the fabric because of the glue. What do you suggest?

Thanks for video. These tools are a game changer! I bought them several years ago and use them on all my appliqué projects. I now save money by using kids Elmers washable glue sticks. Just scrap a little off using the flat edge tool and smear it on just like the glue stick.

I am referring to the round bluish blue things that you are painting white spots on?

Is the Vislene machine washable after the quilt is completed? Is it flexible or stiff?

Kathy, could the outer frame be done by reverse applique? I don’t understand the directions. So sorry. I love the pattern and have my fabric. I have tried to find a video on how to complete this block but can’t seem to locate one. I’m guessing there isn’t one?
