I’ve just read it, and I did really like it. There is a reason why we love Wolverine, or at least in my case, Logan had a dark past and a lot of suffering that made him tuff, to see him remember the X-Men is a good shot because it reminds Logan why he should do good, sometimes. Wolverine has killed which makes him question if he has humanity inside of him, it is a constant battle against his psyche. Him helping another “monster” is great in my opinion. 👍

Own it, loved the team, as having the legendary Dave Cockrum drawing a John Byrne story is pretty wild. Cockrum's sense of design is second to none. He designed super-hero costumes in the early-to-mid 70s that we still use because they're so great. Legends of the Dead Earth was the theme for Annuals that particular year. Essentially a jumping-off point for everyone to use for those stories. Not my favorite period of annuals - I particularly hated "Bloodlines", which was the jumping-off point in 1993. This particular one was simply an interesting experiment with the idea of Wonder Woman. Every annual had a different take on the idea and this is a period between the 20th century and the 30th century during which we lose a great deal of history, so it's muddy to folks like the Legion of Super-Heroes who live in the 30th century (31st now). And - aside from the X-Men - the Legion is the other team that Cockrum re-designed in 1973 which resulted in that team taking over Superboy's title on that book.

@@BGPhilbin wicked!!! Thank you so much for the info! I really appreciate all of that!
@BGPhilbin13 күн бұрын
@@DCPatrol Glad to contribute. For those unaware, after DC failed to keep a promise to Cockrum, he went over to Marvel, where he co-created the "New" X-Men and utilized his creations intended for the Legion: Colossus, Nightcrawler and Storm (she was actually an amalgamation of two separate characters, but wholly Cockrum's invention, as well). When Cockrum's initial run ended on the X-Men, newcomer John Byrne took over the art duties (ably assisted and embellished by the Great Terry Austin). When John Byrne left to write and draw his epic run on the Fantastic Four (which many still tout as being second only to Kirby & Lee), Cockrum returned to the X-Men for a time. Dave Cockrum was an absolute beast. Just a taste of what he was capable - and right at the beginning of his career - is featured on my webpage dedicated to his work on the Legion (with more detail of his contributions & creations there): www.metropolisplus.com/LOSH/
