Another great post-show livestream!! Thank you for your efforts and time. Very much appreciated, as always!! As you predicted way back when, "Clark" revealed to the world his is "Superman". His "I am 'Iron Man'" moment as you said. Loved the story of the dual identity and its' deeper meaning beyond just putting on glasses as a disguise.

The main issue that caused the resent that was out there was the total horrendous disrespectful treatment of the studio executives to the fans. Fans were invested in story, even if it was flawed. But the constant lying coming out of the studio kinda forced even the 'not a big fan if ZS' crowd to call out the executives. As long as JG and his DC respects the fans, it will succeed, and even the hard core ZS fans would be on board JG's DC train.

As someone who 8 years ago was all in on the release the Snyder Cut movement and did enjoy it overall when it finally came out (and I'll always be glad it finally did), the truth is that the film isn't even that great without comparing it to the Frankenstein theatrical cut. For many reasons but chief among them being that Superman was still far from who he should be, and Henry Cavill himself essentially agreed which is why he wanted to come back. He still barely got screen time in this film or interacted with the League all that much. I also pointed out a while back that him letting Diana execute Steppenwolf is actually the exact opposite of Infinite Crisis (yes I know ironically written by Geoff Johns, who is a great comics and TV writer outside his mess up with the films, whose reputation in the comics and Arrowverse people he worked with is held high) where he stopped her from doing the exact same to Mongul. Zack Snyder was still more obsessed with Superman as a force of power than as an actual character, he still didn't really understand or get the character, or successfully ground him as he claimed. On the other hand, in this coming film we're actually getting a Superman with his supporting cast in major roles. Clark and Lois' relationship is the focus and potentially with way more chemistry and better writing. Jimmy, Clark's human best friend that shows how human and grounded he can be through how he loves and inspires ordinary people like us, is here. Now, Krypto, the only living connection Kal-El of Krypton had to the home world he never knew (before Kara comes in as Supergirl later) and humanizes both his loneliness and desire for companionship is here. Don't get me wrong, Superman struggling with his doubts and insecurities is important and we will likely get that too, but there's more to being human and grounded then flaws. Epic action and sci-fi-fantasy scale are important for a big Superman film yes, but that personal side is important too. Like Grant Morrison said for All-Star, Superman stories are often normal relatable stories but on an epic scale. If he walks a dog, he walks it past Saturn, but he's still walking a dog. Most of all the film will focus on how Superman is a champion for truth and justice in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned. It's a very common theme in the best Superman stories and very relevant to both the evil Supermen clones and Zack Snyder's portrayal too.

I have some personal history to relate here as well. The DCEU is what got me into fandom in a major way. Back in 2015, I found myself looking into sites for info. I kept following everything throughout 2015 onwards, and so I was keenly aware of online reports about the behind the scenes changes over time. I'm fairly certain I read your original report on the changes to JL back then. I can't remember when I found ROTF but it was sometime during this time, which is what eventually lead me here🙂So yeah, I've been following you for a while. Regarding ZSJL, I think it's ok, nothing great. I rank it about on par with the theatrical version. They both have issues, just different ones. I think a 2.5 hr cut of ZSJL with some Whedon scenes edited in would probably give us the best overall result for a movie, since ZSJL was edited as a miniseries. I also really disliked those sequel teases, since one of them involved turning a touching Lois-Ma Kent scene into a pointless easter egg. I agree that WB's handling of the situation was awful, but setting that aside, ZS is just a poor filmmaker overall. If we had gotten his uncompromised vision, I think we would've gotten to Rebel Moon many years earlier. I find ZS' taste bizarre. Any guy who can say with a straight face that a Batman movie needs a prison r*pe scene to be dark is not someone I need running DC.

What I remember most about 2016-2017 was the abrupt U-turn in DC. It was so abrupt as to cause whiplash. Leading up to BvS, throughout 2015, we kept getting fun bits of info about the new universe. They were going on and on about all the cool stuff planned and what not. Then close to release, we started hearing that WB execs wanted more Batman in BvS, and that the film wasn't very good. Then the movie came out and within that year, we heard of SS being reshaped, and most interestingly, WB invited a bunch of critics to the JL set and let them publish their articles right away instead of making them wait like always. WB clearly wanted positive media coverage about DC. This was also where it was revealed that they were just making JL, not JL Part 1. Looking back, it's hard to believe all the controversy unfolded over just two years, 16-17. We're still seeing the aftershocks from that time today, seven years later.

Seeing this got me so hyped. Nerding out over Krypto and the All-Star homage. Speaking of, I’ve talked about this a lot from the set leaks but man, after on-screen stuff removed it for easier VFX/animation, it’s so good to see the yellow S back on the cape. It never left in comics (except when N52 made it black) so it’s great to see it back.

Due to the time difference, I was watching the episode while watching your Post-Show reaction stream. I had a feeling that General Sam Lane was going to die this season but, did not expect it this early in the shorten season. Thank you to Mr. Dylan Walsh for his portrayal of General Sam Lane. As you stated, this episode was not "action" heavy but, "heavy hitting" nonetheless. And for that final scene....whoa. Let's see where this goes after the heart transplant. As for you mom's theory, nice and interesting theory and would have been interesting to see. And the entire cast is "killing it" this final season. Great second post show reaction stream. Thank you for your efforts and time. As always, very much appreciated.

0:47 THE DRAMATIC TITLE: The Invisible Landscape, The Black Rider (Nibiru) On The "Black Road" (The Galactic Cloud). THE DRAMATIC FRONTISPIECE (INTERTITLE): The Planting, Germination and Growth of the Seed (Claytronic Fractal) of the Great (50 kilometer high) Tree (House of El) of Crystal (Claytronic Fractal) on Earth (the planet Adam). (Daniel 4:10-17; Ezekiel 31:e-18; 41:13-15) THE DRAMATIC NEED: The 11 Remarkable(Extraordinary) Deeds by El(Satan) of the Kryptonian(the Antichrist) to gain the whole world.(Matthew 16:26-27; Mark 8:36-37; Luke 9:25-27) The entire economy, politics, education and multi-ethnic culture of the world has revolved around the Kryptonian(the Antichrist). THE DRAMATIC PREMISE: "You(the Antichrist) cannot save the whole world by yourself." What is a god?(Mark 3:17) Who trusts in the power of Heaven(the spirit world).(Psalm 82:6) What is a man(adami)? Whoever trusts in the strength of the Earth (the planet Adami). (Psalms 82:7) DRIVING THEME: The Earth (the planet Adami) in devastation and terror (falls into panic) hurts the pride of the strength of the Earth (the planet Adami) and the pride of the power of the Earth (the planet Adami). (Jeremiah 33:28) Due to the catastrophes, disasters and worldwide earthquakes promoted by the restoration and fortification of the House (Dynasty) of El, the Fortress of Solitude, its crystals (claytronic fractals) growing by ecophagy (chemosynthesis) of the lithosphere (oceanic and continental plates) of the Earth (the planet Adami). (Jeremiah 33:29) THE DRAMATIC SITUATION: The Dark Knight (The False Prophet) promoting the justice of the Earth (the planet Adami) with kryptonite before the 11 Remarkable(Extraordinary) Deeds(World Saving) of the Kryptonian(the Nephilim), the son(the Antichrist) of Jor-El(Satan) of Krypton(Nibiru).(Leviticus 26:19) THE NEWS: -NASA astronomers have discovered traces(signs) of Krypton(the Nephilim planet), the home planet(Nibiru) of the Kryptonian(the Nephilim). The Kryptonian(the Nephilim) has disappeared from Earth(the Adami planet). NASA(THE ASTROBIOLOGIST): -According to reliable sources from the League(the Grigoris) and the son(the Antichrist) of Krypton(the Nephilim planet), we have learned of the existence of the extinct exoplanet. Krypton (the Nephilim planet) was a crystalline exoplanet, nemesis (Nibiru), companion, orbiting the star Ladande 21185, a red dwarf. The life forms (paraphysiological, cryptozoological and cryptohistological) on Krypton (the Nephilim planet) were life forms based on silicon, germanium and titanium. The crystalline relief forms were prismatic pentagons, hexagons. They were convex and concave heptagons and octagons, equifacial, isosceles and scalene. The shapes of the continental and oceanic plates were the same as the shapes of snowflakes formed from the crystallization of water and their continental isthmuses were the nerve endings similar to axons. The oceanic and continental plates were the neurons of Krypton (the Nephilim planet). The crystal crystallosphere (claytronic fractal) of Krypton (the Nephilim planet) was the "crystal skull" and the core was the "crystal brain" (claytronic fractal). The crystal ocean (claytronic fractal) had the crystallogical oceanic plate. The crystal sea (claytronic fractal) had the crystallogical continental plate. There were no civil or architectural constructions, what existed were architectural and civil assemblies that sprouted by the protrusion of crystals (claytronic fractals) from the lithosphere (crystalogy) of Krypton (the Nephilim planet). The architecture of Krypton (the Nephilim planet) was untimely: the demiregular (pentagonal) tessellation with decorative (geometric) composition inside convex pentagons. The urbanism of Krypton (the Nephilim planet) was a crystalline continental plate (made of claytronic fractals) whose civil esplanades formed a quantum circuit where the architectural assemblies of crystal (claytronic fractals) were assembled. The civil "constructions" (assemblies) functioned as quantum components and the entire city (megalopolis) of crystal (claytronic fractals) behaved like a quantum circuit. The transit routes of the city of Krypton (the Nephilim planet) were parallel roads (quantum buses or parallel viaducts with multiple parallel city lanes). They were part of the topology (continental platform of layered cities) on the crystallogy (lithosphere) of Krypton (the Nephilim planet). In the crystalline (quantum) cities, an infrastructure (historically also called Kryptonian (nephilim) highways or Kryptonian (nephilim) infrastructure) were interacting crystals (claytronic fractals) that transferred Kryptonians (nephilim) between components within a crystalline (quantum) city, or between crystalline (quantum) cities. This term encompassed all related nuclear fusion power plant components (quantum energy sources) and claytronic hologram, including interaction.

Having been in NY, the only way to get to Manhattan from Long Island on time is to take the train. I've driven that distance and it's unreal! I never saw this movie in the cinema. I only watched it at home. I've watched it a few times and I think the biggest problem was that it needed to be a reboot. Superman IV was a flop and the Chris Reeve era had been gone for a while. Returns wasn't awful, but it's strictly an ok movie. Nothing too bad, but nothing outstanding. And it basically copied the plot of Superman I, with Lex having a nonsensical real estate plan. I mean, really, how exactly did Lex intend to make his new island habitable? Coming out in the era where we had gotten complex, rounded villains in the Spider-Man and X-Men series, Returns felt really out of place. It had nothing to offer beyond being a Superman movie. That may be enough for fans, but casual audiences needed more to interest them. Kate Bosworth gets nothing to do as Lois, and the super kid storyline is a drag. I feel like Returns is one of the times the people who go "Superman is boring" are correct, because it tried to tap into nostalgia while not being able to stand on its own two feet. By the way, when you get to the unmade Superman movies, you need to go over how Jon Peters had this stupid obsession with a mechanical spider, an idea that never happened, which Peters then took with him to Wild Wild West, where there was a spider. That clueless moron being in charge of movies is one of the many problems with Hollywood. PS: I wrote this before listening fully, so it's fun to hear you bringing up all the issues I had with the movie.

As a 2001 dude, my first exposures to Superman were the DC Animated Universe (STAS, JL, JLU) and this. Maybe Smallville too but I only really got into it later. I'll always hold Superman Returns in high regard. IMO, outside of the action, it aged better than Man of Steel on my last rewatch marathon during the pandemic. It was awesome that Brandon Routh got to come back for the CW's Crisis on Infinite Earths too.

Problem in doing a loose sequel to Superman 1&2 is since the Christopher Reeve movies ended the comics changed, Lex Luthor was now a public rich figure who runs corporations whose a super villain behind the scenes, that's the Lex Luthor we got in Lois & Clark and Smallville but in Superman Returns Lex Luthor is a wacky guy who wants to do real estate schemes with kryptonite shooting in the ocean which feels ancient it isn't where Superman is at. Also the comics started to have Lois gradually fall for Clark and him reveal his identity to her and later marry, it's what we got again in Lois & Clark and Smallville but in Superman Returns Lois is bitter about Superman being gone for five years and treats Clark like crap and still doesn't know he's Superman, again feels ancient and isn't where Superman is at.

Cavill just has very little range as an actor and combine that with a terrible director in Zack Snyder and you get a Superman that most people just could never care about outside of the die-hard Snyder fans. Man of Steel has a few moments I enjoy but BvS and ZSJL are 2 of the worst movies I've ever seen with so many bafflingly stupid choices that ultimately killed any hope for the DCEU moving forward.

Your forgetting that Black Adam was filmed and in post production for most of the time Hamada was in charge, whatever decision creatively happened in the film, he signed off on it, besides the cameo. And if Hamada stayed in charge, their plans post flash had Supergirl replacing Superman (meaning Superman won’t exist or even dead) Batgirl would replace Keaton’s Batman as he would be too old to be active as the Batman so he would be more of a behind the scenes character like he was in Batman Beyond. And the only appearances Superman would have is the JJ Abrams Superman film, The CW Series and also the Crisis film that Hamada planned to use Cavill’s last film in the contract. In terms of how people would have reacted to this, it would have catastrophic effects, people criticise Gunn for taking over but compared to what Hamada had planned, this was a great choice as Gunn loves Superman and is using inspiration from all the famous Superman comics, this is comic book fan’s dream come true. And what’s better is that we get a Supergirl that isn’t replacing Superman, but is adding to the El Legacy in the DCU.

It's a problem with with movies meant to be the first in a franchise, if the first film doesn't break box office records they'll scrap all sequel plans and start over, so there's time anymore for the stars to grow into the roles, it means second chances are at a disadvantages. Same with TV shows, if you don't have high enough ratings in the first ten episodes they'll cancel the show all together.

Might? That’s exactly what happened, in the Man Of Steel feauturettes, they were looking to ‘modernise’ Superman and when Goyer, Nolan and eventually Zack came in, in the words of Deborah Snyder, they said ‘they figured it out’ when really they didn’t. Imo Man Of Steel had a lot of potential, the marketing was really good going up to the release, but the problem is that the movie wanted to just show the highlights of Superman’s origin just to get to the action, and it would be much better if after the ship arrived in Kansas, instead of Clark being on a fishing boat pre superman, he should already be established as Superman. That way you can get right into the action and you can focus more on the character of Clark.
