Hi. I've been crocheting for 20 years but recently I have a bump on my pinky finger & I have always used method #4. I find the others uncomfortable. I bend the pinky finger & I don't know what else to do as when I uncurl my finger, I can't hold the yarn. Any advice please? Thank you 🪷

I need things to be explained I’ve searched for so many videos on how to learn this stitch and you are the only one who actually describes it and tells what it is so we can find it appreciate you so much THANK YOU!!!

Thank you! I hold my yarn the same way you do, but the problem I've been having is that I'm not bringing all of my stitches all the way up to the shaft. Now I need to start a new project and practice the correct way. I can't wait. I'm so grateful for this video.

Thank you for this video. I've been crocheting for almost 10 years and I have been so intimidated by knitting, specifically how to hold the yarn. But not anymore! Your video has given me confidence to try again. Thank you. ❤❤

I do yarn under just to grab the loop but to complete the stitch it's not very practical as it falls off your hook. I've been trying to train myself to do yarn under for amigurumi because with single crochet, at least, it makes a better looking fabric
@shirleyrogers31455 ай бұрын
The hook in her hand looks really small. Any idea what brand it is? I have really small hands so a 4" or 4.5" hook handle would be best for me, but I don't find this anywhere.

Thank u for this. I started crocheting with the notion I would leave knitting off the table after too many failed attempts. One day the micro movements and techniques just clicked to crochet uniformly quicker. A year later I'm confident I can knit. Your video only excites me on the endless projects now at my disposal! 🎉😅❤

I have just started learning to crotchet. I've watched many different videos but yours have great demonstrations and explanations! Even though I've got the first chain down already I have still started from the beginning of your mini courses for crocheting. I just wanted to say thank you for uploading these videos and helping people like me learn! I'll be 40 in a few weeks and have always wanted to learn to crotchet and finally got the nerve to try and am grateful for your teaching!

So it's Easter Sunday 2024 and I just found this video. I think things happen for a reason and I'll tell you why. Preamble lol...I am a crocheter enthusiast. I learned to crochet over 30 years ago as a preteen. I did it constantly for a few months then put it aside for 30+ years. Then during covid (Nov 2021) I was inpired by a colleague to reaquint myself with crochet and I havent looked back. I'm a music teacher by profession but I've headed a crochet elective for the past 2 years and its always a hit. My students (grades 5 and 6) love to learn, some excel and other use the time to socialize and make super long chains (I'm ok with this cause theyre 5th and 6th graders and they're still crocheting!!) End of preamble...So reently Ive been searching for other crocheters. It started small but its ballooned into me starting a crochet group. We'll be meeting tomorrow for the first time at a local coffee shop!!! I watched your video How to start a crochet group wihich led me to this video. I wished I saw it a few months ago but Iv'e dont everything that you mentioned so I think Im on the right track. I'll come back and let you know how it turned out. FYI I live in the The Bahamas and although there are crocheters our there, I coulnt find a group. Thanks for reading my super long ramble but I'm more excited than ever to start this new crocheting initative. Hopfully we'll be successful!!

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I can definitely tell you teach crochet as you answer the questions of us new to crochet. Holding the yarn is very awkward. The very first stitch is ok, but after that the yarn is loose and that's my stopping place. I'm excited to apply your teaching 😁 Thanks again!

Not sure how this ended up on my YT suggestions, but as an ex-sailor (USN), the difference that I see is that you can create a set of knitting needles out of 2 chopsticks and a crochet tool with a old toothbrush and a small file. There are some hollow knitting needles that some people buy for use as "fids" when splicing rope... Maybe that is how the YT suggestion came up for me...

Yarn under is perfect for Amigurumi. Yarn under is excellent for stiffer projects such as crafts and household items. Do you wish for a dog blanket that will last more than 3 hours? Bam. Yarn under. Tablecloths, baskets and dish rags are best when tight so yarn under. If you want soft n squishy.. if you want your project to drape such a sweater, lap blanket or scarf.. then yarn over. Both stitches are excellent and have a purpose :)

Hmmm, I'm just working along doing what you did in the first part of the video, what's supposed to be knit stitch, but both sides of what I've done look like purl... I have no clue. I've done this and pulled it out three times... hope I figure it out bc I want one side to look like knit
@ayelaii9 ай бұрын
If you do one piece in all one type of stitch, it will look like what you described. If you want your piece to look knitted, you need to do the stockinette stitch, which is where you alternate knit and purl each row. So it'd be like row 1 is knit, row 2 is purl, row 3 is knit, row 4 is purl, and so on.
