Hearing this at the WoG2 c1 map was nice, but hearing it at molten showers was extremely emotional. Hearing a remix of the very beginning of the adventure when you’re nearing the absolute end of it gives a vibe like “we’ve gone through many obstacles and struggles and so much has changed, but we’re still dedicated and after all these years we’re gonna get back home”

did they actually need to go THIS hard for a train level theme? i mean seriously, its a fast train, not a nuclear apocalypse that wipes out the human race, why is this song so unbelievably sad and tragic sounding?

I just realized each chapter in WoG17 represents the story of a chapter in WoG1. In both wog1 and wog17 chapter 1, the protagonist meets a polite-sounding character working for a corporation who gives the player a hard task with secretly evil intentions (the sign painter in wog1, Effie in wog17). In chapter 2 of wog1 and wog17, the protagonist meets a woman who isn’t really a woman and learns some background history of what happened before the game (Little Miss World of Goo in wog1, Misty in wog17). In chapter 3 of both wog1 and wog17, the protagonist begins learning of a dark plot relating to the corporation with there being a dark ending with people screaming in fear (the successful launching of product z in wog1, and the murder of Dmitri Cognac in wog17). In chapter 4 of both wog1 and wog17, the protagonist is stuck in a largely abandoned area as a result of chapter 3 and meets a dumb/oblivious character who inadvertently causes the protagonist to realize important information (MOM revealing how to destroy WoGcorp for wog1, and the waiter revealing the secret of sunshine power for wog17). And finally in chapter 5 of both wog1 and wog17, the protagonist after having realized the truth about the evil corporation goes and sees the person responsible for the player’s travels with them being desperate and dark (sign painter/telescope operator in wog1, and Effie in wog2), with it being implied the evil corporation will be dealt a serious setback (WoGcorp in wog1, Blackwood in wog2)

i honestly really liked chapter 5, the levels were probably my favourite overall and the way the message is wrapped up in this world honestly hit me a lot harder than chapter 4's message did (although chapter 4 was also still enjoyable)

Since overdone franchises and sequels is the main theme of this chapter, I think the ending with the player tripping on the Curator’s power cable and being oblivious to the consequences is a metaphor for how technological advancement and the rise of new, more popular styles of games will inevitably kill the older ones as time goes on and cause them to be largely forgotten. We, the World of Goo fan base and the modding community, will do anything to keep the world of goo franchise alive for as long as possible (hence the curator) but sooner or later someone will come and invent some new advanced technology so that we could go further in gaming innovation (hence the player deciding it’s lonely to be “stuck for eternity inside the 17th sequel”, in other words being stuck at the early 21st century point of gaming style innovation and wanting to do something new) but in the process, these new futuristic games will inevitably cause franchises from the 2010s and such to die out regardless of whether that was the intention (hence “accidentally tripping on the power cable and erasing the disk preserving the world of goo franchise”) just like how the 2010-2020s games have made 1980s games and such a lot less popular.

Мелодия крайне удручающая в оригинале, но здесь она звучит так, будто всё самое страшное позади и отдаётся эхом былой эпохи. И также нагоняет жути перед темнотой будущего.

@@avimo2565the scrapped TD game,the level from the end of the first trailer(which was a YOR level in the first place ),more wog9 and 11
@avimo256518 күн бұрын
@@HJW-The_cringetrue, but I think the other YOR games’s main purpose in the first place was to foreshadow black stain and make it a easier transition. TBS adds a lot of depth to the story and also is an original twist for smth like wog2, I think they tried hard to subvert our expectations and live up to WoG1’s c4 and MOM stuff. But nevertheless I respect your preference for other styles of gameplay and since the first 4 levels aren’t super important overall you could always skip them. Also the wog5 thing was only scrapped cause it wasn’t working as they intended
@HJW-The_cringe16 күн бұрын
@@avimo2565 thanks for understanding,and another reason that I don’t like the black stain is because wog2 is most likely the last game we’ll ever see on the series, and it has like four levels(which all could’ve been great) and overall,it’s a me problem, I just don’t like this type of gameplay

If anyone is wondering why it’s called The Wet Sack, it’s because the level it’s used in, Juicer, has that phrase in the sign, which says: “This wet sack looks like it’s about to burst, I wouldn’t tug on it if I were you.” The wet sack in question is a pool of liquid, being held by some Goo Balls, along with Ivy balls you have to detach to free the liquid. The “Wet Sack” part is just there, because Kyle Gabler (one of the creators of the game and developers) often likes to put dirty jokes in signs and stuff.
