My heart is breaking listening to this beautiful song. 1978, the happiest days of my life, spent with the love of my life. i miss her so much. Never really been happy since. No one compresses to my love Diane, and no one ever will. I'm so lost without you. Pete. lOL .

I have been away for about 20 years and have always been proud to be a geordie and take the credence you get everywhere. We really are universally respected, I just want to move home now. I have also done my time..

I remember crossing the railway bridge on the train North with the iconic Tyne Bridge coming into view after my last day in uniform as I returned home - a moment shared by both of my grandfathers after WWII & my father when he left the forces in the 1960's, before me too in the 90's. This song puts me right back there on that last train ride back - I ran home for good and made it back like my forefathers. Where else would we go in the end?
