Thanks for sharing, and one agent is promising me milk and honey in Quebec. I rather be in a non English speaking country tan to be in an English speaking country and suffer language barrier. This was very helpful 🙏🏽

So it is you you have a language problem not Montreal, because French is a Quebec language, before anyone move there should obviously know what they are doing, you are very lucky they put you in the kitchen instead of not giving you a job all together because you cannot do a front of house job without a good language skills.

The deal with Quebec is it's NOT bilingual. It has sort of been bilingual in the past but it's now strictly French. So going there and speaking English is like going to the US and speaking Spanish. Sure.. a lot of people might understand you but it isn't the language.
@TedTed-xh1ys
@TedTed-xh1ys 6 ай бұрын
This doesn't mean I agree with it, Montreal IS a bilingual city by makeup whether it likes it or not, but the reality is the current government wants French ONLY and has gotten enough of the population behind that notion to carry it out. Anyone moving to Quebec should have at least a working vocabulary of French and be studying towards fluency, or you just won't be welcomed.

@JourneyWithJoyTv I'm sorry you had such a frustrating time in Montreal. It's especially frustrating when you make an effort to learn the language and find the resources to do so are terrible. Ironically I have found people in France to be more welcoming to English speakers than Montreal

To save a few hopeful people, having lived in Montreal for 1 year, and being raised Canadian. I can tell you that not all of this is true. Yes you will struggle to integrate into the culture if you don’t know French, but you can absolutely live in an English community. West of Montreal (Kirkland) is very anglophone, so is westmount, and Decarer. There were cases when I spoke French yet was responded in English - I didn’t like that very much, but it is what it is. Not only this, we have a lot of exchange workers from South American countries to support our fast food industry so there is a work. It just might not be the work you are looking for. If you are still hesitant, I’d say become at least an A2 level French, or move to Alberta.

Why do you stay in Montreal?:- did Canada Immigration insist on residency in Montreal as a condition of immigration? If you have PSW training you can easily find work in eastern Ontario and the Ottawa Valley such as in Pembroke and Renfrew but you need a car there. You could also find work easily in Ottawa where they have public transit. You should talk to your friends at your church to ask if they could help you resettle in a better place for you in eastern Ontario which is not very far for you to move:- perhaps they have a sister congregation in eastern Ontario who could help you. You seem to belong to a Catholic parish so there are many Catholic parishes in Ottawa and one of them might be able to help you relocate to a more friendly community.

Good advice for immigrants:- don't go to Montreal because les Quebecois don't want you there so they can have it all for themselves. Even if you speak passable French they will still say "Je ne parle pas Anglais." and even people from la francophonie such as France, Belgium, and Switzerland are barely tolerated because they are not "laine pur":- they like only the native Quebecois accent, everything else is foreign and unwelcome. If you are a person of dark complexion they will also call you "toast brûlé" (burnt toast) and even Haitians and Senegalese don't like it there. Toronto used to be quite welcoming and supportive to immigrants from everywhere but not anymore:- it's grossly overcrowded, very very expensive, and quite chaotic and dangerous. Also in Toronto there are ca 300, 000 Jamaicans some of whom are very radical and have a lot of "bad attitude" and they will try to "blackify" you and if you resist they will call you a "chocolate marshmallow":- many African immigrants don't like them but the local white police are not always so friendly either. You need to go to a smaller less popular city such as Winnipeg or Windsor or Chatham or Saskatoon or Calgary where passable English will help you get started and they are used to some immigration and people are not hostile and tend to be more helpful. If you like very warm sub-tropical summers and mild winters the best place is the "banana belt" in southwest Ontario such as London, Chatham, Windsor, Leamington, and perhaps even Amherstburg (which will be a pleasant surprise to Afro folks!) where you can find light industrial and seasonal farm work and friendly welcoming neighbours and a slower pace of life.

Hi..I’ll be moving to Quebec in two months with my family, my husband speaks French and English well good for him, I only speak English, I’ll rate my french to 2% 🤣 my kids are 2 and 4 years they only can speak and understand English. Language barrier is one of my challenges which I do not want to repeat since I lived in Chonavfor 5 years using translation, I know how much frustrating it is living in that kind of system. To your experience which city in Quebec would you recommend is better for people who fear struggling like you due to language Barrie and kids??? Thanks

Hi..Thanks for watching..You can reside in Dorval or perrefonds situated in Montreal because majority of English speakers resides there. I don’t think you are going to face so much challenges since your husband understands French but I suggest you start learning and continue to learn French language when you finally move.As for the kids they can easily learn French since they are still very young.Congratulations and good luck on your journey to 🇨🇦

@JourneyWithJoyTv
@JourneyWithJoyTv Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching..A self employed is not eligible under any of the express entry because one of the eligible criteria is the work must be a paid job so any unpaid or voluntary work are not eligible except if you own a company and you work for your company as an employee with evidence of pay-check and employment letter you will be eligible because one of the supporting documents is paycheck and letter of employment from employer confirming that you do the job
