Manufacturing issue. They overtightened the bolts right where these cracks develop. High stress point

i have a 2011 silverado 5.3 V8 with currently 263,000 miles on it and bought it with 246K miles. very reliable to this day just needs basic maintenance and thats pretty much it! still on original engine and tranny!

Your lucky, I bought a 2011. I spent a couple thousand dollars on a oil pump and lifters and a cam and front end parts. And long tube headers. Ok. Wasn't a stock cam but a lifter went bad and screwed up the stock cam, so I put in a stage 2 btr truck cam. And now the 6l80e transmission is shifting rough AF! I bought it 2 yrs ago with 140k and now it had 165k miles. I'll buy a I Coyote next time.

I just recently bought a 2011 silverado 1500 with 103K miles , I’m satisfied with how well it drives and condition , considering the year and miles. Is there anything that I should keep in mind to prolong the life of my truck?

I have the same truck 2011 Silverado 5.3 4x4. Had it in the family since day one and hard miles lol. 186k on it I would definitely deactivate the afm mode with the range device or a tune. Other than that just maintain it all the time with oil changes and it will last forever

i have a 2010, 193k everything is good on mine as well. changed an alternator and water pump. of course all maintenance, including 3k oil changes

I was busy/lazy and went over a year without changing my oil. The oil life gauge on the dash still read 40% oil life remaining. Total bullshit, that gauge. Congrats on your high mileage and good condition. You take good care of that truck.

I had a 2006 -3500 with the 6.0 the truck had 389k miles on it when I sold it and the guy still driving it past 400k now ! Great engine and trucks never had a Major issue except routine maintenance
