I once owned the poster for this. In all my life I have never lost a thing except (yep it's coming) this poster. How I managed to do such a thing still annoys me today as I have never seen it online since - since when I first got it years ago, the first year eBay had begun. So pathetic of me.

Btw, the lady Leo Gorcey is dancing with is his real wife, Kay. After they divorced, she married Groucho Marx.

Yes, you are correct - Leo Gorcey is dancing with his then wife: Kay Marvis - Great moves while cutting the rug! Just try to duplicate the Huntz Hall moves - Great action!

They kept Donald O'Connor off to the side as much as possible. At the time (amazingly) he was the weakest dancer in the group

I can see two different moves that were eventually assimilated into hip-hop culture and used by b-boys in what is commonly referred to as Break Dancing. Broncos and aerial cartwheels.

This is a wonderful post! The Merry Macs inspired The Moderaires and Six Hits & A Miss among many others from that era. The pretty lady vocalist is Mary Lou Cook. After this film was made she was replaced by Marjory Garland. The youngest of the McMichael brothers was killed in WWII in 1944. Don Raye (Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy) & Gene de Paul wrote the songs for the movie. This is a real treasure. Thank you for sharing it. Cheers!

Betty Compton was very good in this film... I think that it was the last part of a trio; starting with 'Marihuana' in '36 & 'The Marijuana Menace' in '37. A Classic Cult film.
