Ohhhh, I like your securing method....clever. I'm happy I found both of your videos....purely by accident on the basket, lololol. I ran out of wrapped rope so to start an actual basket so it became a trivet, lol. Thank you.

I don't remember but I think it was 35 feet. I've done tiny hearts up to big hearts. There's no right or wrong way so just have fun with it!

It doesn't really have to be. I've seen some beautiful ones with rounded points. You could try to pull the basket away from the machine when you sew the point area and it will give it a little more room to be manipulated. I don't think you can attach a pic here?!?
