Flying as a wingman, and actually trying to do a wingmans job, is not an easy task. You've gotta really have your head on a swivel to watch two 6 o'clocks. If you run off chasing after a bandit, and your wingman gets shot down, it's a real bad feeling. And your squadron mates won't have much to say to you when you get back to base.. 😉

Not specifically. If there are sound mods included in this ****!0_WxTech_Effects_v1.6_ALL-game-versions**** that would be the only possibility. I have installed that effects mod in my YPack and BAT versions. I don't use it in my VPMod version, as I prefer the effects already included in VPMod.

Yes, the main trigger on my joystick is a 2 step trigger. Pull it to the first step and it fires guns, pull it to the second step and it fires guns and cannons together. I actually was trying to extinguish the fire, and it worked, for the most part. It would flare up once in a while, but it mostly went out. Thanks for watching.

That's one opinion. Here's another: He never had a chance. I don't fly in the normal, predictable, "by the book" manner, and the AI couldn't figure out what I was doing. It doesn't matter which opinion is correct. The "outcome" was that I won, and I had fun doing it. :^)

LOL... This was the first time I've actually flown in several months. Since May, I think. I'm a little rusty. All the videos I've put up since May were made from ntrk files from past missions. And on top of it, my track ir5 was acting up, making things jump around a bit. As the weather turns colder, and I can no longer work outside or in the barn, I hope to have more time to get back into flying. We'll see. edit) I forgot that I test flew this mission and it's companion mission in August, right after I made them. But that's all the flying I've done since May. So... still rusty.

@@tomhighway1952 Hey - I get it. I was, IRL, a civilian pilot, and just like you, "it gets rusty" fast. Please take my suggestion as it was meant - to be helpful. Deflection shooting is hard to master, but vital - American pilots were trained in it extensively because so few others were and it made a massive difference.

@@StevenMRA I'm also a licensed private pilot. SEL, with high performance, high altitude, and tail dragger certifications. I'm in my 70's now, and haven't flown a real airplane in quite a few years. I miss it. I knew you were trying to be helpful. I appreciate it. :^)

I was lucky it was a Zero on my six and not a Tony. A P-40 will easily outrun a Zero in a dive, but not so easy with a Tony. During the second head on engagement the bandit hit one of my oil lines. The engine still performed well, but there was so much oil on the windscreen I was having a difficult time seeing in front of me. Because of that, I missed a couple of shots at the number 3 Zero, and my number 7 had to shoot him off my tail. Fortunately we were close to home base, so even if the engine ran out of oil, making it back to the airfield was not a problem. Thanks for watching, and thanks for the positive feed back. :^)

On the other hand, these two kills seemed to involve a quite small number of hits that nonetheless dismantled those crates. I'd suspect increased ammo effectiveness was enabled. I generally must get rather more hits--actual hits, not just shots fired--to do such destruction. (Been playing this since 2003. ;) )

@Turloghan I see that complaint quite often about that game.

@@glennledrew8347 I assume you're referring to the "unrealistic gunnery" switch. Yeah.. I always turn that off.

I thought about going under the bridge, but there were too many pylons holding it up. ;^) Because I screwed up the initial engagement, I really didn't have any other option but to attempt getting him to overshoot. I won't make that mistake again in the future when I engage a K-4 while flying a P-38. Thanks for watching.

@@LancelotChan That's not likely. I don't fancy spending the money it takes to keep up with all the latest greatest stuff, and they don't have any PTO content.
