In my case, she left and stonewall. In hindsight, I am flabbergasted that I remained stagnant in not knowing how her thoughts worked and allowed myself to be frustrated that we didn't try different methods of communicating. Ugh, I could write for 12hrs straight. I am a wreck. Yet, I can't hate her. I can only stick with, "I understand." Because I knew nothing about attachment styles before our 4 year break up. She's textbook FA. There's possibly BPD, Depression, Ptsd.... oof :( It makes me so sad. I had no idea what I was doing or how to talk to, react to, express feelings to her in a certain way. Could've saved us. God, I miss her. If only I didn't say or do a handful of hurtful things, ALMOST ENTIRELY from that MF Alcohol! :( Ugh. Doesn't matter. Doesn't matter if "it's not me," I agree that might fly once. Personally, I'd have a lot more patience than she did, but that was her out. We planned a "whole new us" date, and get serious about future, etc. Felt like we were 100% locked. I felt more love than ever in my entire life... then, boom. The day of.... gone. Poof. I shared this for the next man/woman that will be in my situation. I don't hate her. I can't hate her. How can I belittle her when she is this way because of how her parents brought her up, or was almost never there, or how she was taken advantage of, or how the shitty girls treated her throughout public school? Does your partner or recent ex have a similar story? Be sensitive! It's not their fault. My point is... stop and think. CONSIDER THERAPY! At the absolute very least, which is great if you're hear and reading this. I give a massive THANK YOU to reputable, good hearted therapists like Clare and countless others on KZbin that offer life changing/SAVING information like this. There's endless videos related to this and all the other heart killing emotional and mental problems. FREE. I might've have ended my time on this planet if I didn't dive head first and take initiative to understand the pain. I've learned more about her, myself, why I am the way I am, why she ran, why she sugar coated things to "not hurt me," and just general psychiatry itself in the last 3 months of the worst heartache of my life. KZbin has been my gateway drug to in person therapy. I'm going to make it, guys.

Can I ask you your opinion on letting someone you are seriously intersted in about escorting occasionally even if it doesn't affect your current relationship? Because it might cause more damage... been needing to ask another girl.

That's a good distinction. Attachment to what we need it to be or how we need to be makes us ignore reality, and that's the discomfort.

How do you know if it’s anxious attachment or your gut

You have knowledge but unfortunately it takes you waaaaay to much time until you go straight to the point. People are losing interest in watching a very long video. Try shorter videos and straight on the subject.

2+ minutes in and you haven't even got into the subject. If you want more likes and subscriptions, dont take people's time and attention for granted. If you feel entitled to likes and subscriptions simply because you put out content for free, you'd be wrong.

Mind blown! Hear me out…the simple act of rephrasing how we are or what we do when we tend toward anxious attachment in that video, from being in control to being in charge had an energetic (literally) shift for me. When I thought on it, I came to…what is charge? Charge is energy. Energy doesn’t DO anything, it just exists. It only does something when it is focussed or transferred somewhere, and then is absorbed into the place where it is focussed. So turning our energy from an active state of controlling (or attempting to) and instead turning it into a being state (in charge…or in energy), we can sit in a state of peace and vitality (energy), rather than a frantic state of constant action (even if the action is only in the mind). #lateNightPonderings #languageIsSoCool

OMG! This made so much sense. Some of the things you mentioned as being the root from past experiences are things that I can relate to. This gives me an idea to write it out on paper which is acknowledging what it is.

@@BeThatHealingGirl Honestly I haven't sat down and really put pen to paper yet. I have to block off some time to do it. I'm sure it's probably going to take time to cover everything I come up with, but that's ok. It's all a process.

@@BeThatHealingGirl***Update** Seeing my list on paper really is something. I'd say the root of my anxious attachment stems from childhood trauma, having low self esteem, and seeking validation. Fear makes me anxious as well. I can say that those experiences may have contributed to who I am today, but I am not my experiences. Hopefully that makes sense. 😂
