If you don't like the scent, put them in a container like a Ball Jar. Those will seal out moisture AND seal in the scent.

Hi Jamie. Thanks for your honest review of the ec30 cleaning products. I also bought a try everything package, and when it first arrived I was a bit blown over by the powerful scent. However, I have come to love the fresh, clean scent since it has dissipated a bit and now wish I had a candle, air freshener, or something that I could just lightly infuse the air with. My reaction to the products was very similar to yours otherwise. I really like using the toilet bowl cleaner because it makes my bathroom smell so good and because I do think it cleans really well. However, it is just too expensive to use long term. I also wasn’t thrilled to learn that ec30 is owned by P&G. I would respect them a lot more if these products were at least somewhat affordable. Thanks again.

I've tried just the shower products: shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (also posted a review). I liked them but I can't get past the P&G thing. Also, on their site are links to safety data sheets for each product. The conditioner info says, "may cause organ failure with prolonged exposure." !!! So instead I'm using Earth Suds products. Same general idea but a much smaller (<25 employees) and greener company.

@@herbivore_jamie There's now another company that makes similar things: Sunrise Sessions. I liked their shampoo, haven't tried their body wash, but don't like their conditioner. I found an almost zero plastic conditioner I like: JVN which comes in an aluminum bottle. It does have a plastic pump but they said their working on ways to make it less waste.

The 100 swaps are simply meant to be a guide, PLEASE don't feel like you have to make all or any of the swaps I'm suggesting. We can't buy our way into eco-friendly lifestyles. That being said, if you have recently run out of a product and are looking for a more sustainable replacement, I've got some ideas for you: drive.google.com/file/d/1aSBuGLSuJW4KVcBjgC8waGpTB3whZGMK/view?usp=sharing For FREE zero waste swaps, check out my playlist titled, Zero Waste For Free!

I personally think "zero" waste is impossible! We all produce waste and that's totally normal (it's not our fault that companies package their products a certain way. Plus they're the main polluters anyway!). It's all about being mindful and also holding companies accountable (which I'll be making a video about soon!)

Do you think the detergent works better than the drops or the Eco nuts or would u say all products worked almost the same what would be ur number one only on performance? TIA

Great question! I think overall Dropps are actually my favorite, and once I use up both the Eco Nuts and the EC30 products I'll be switching back to them. They all work fine, but I'd personally put Dropps at the top!

I still remember the shock of going into a large, national supermarket in New Zealand and seeing fruit, vegetables, pulses and nuts all loose in hoppers and containers, with paper bags provided by the chain. No single-use plastic in sight. I'm from the UK, where we have a horrible problem with plastic waste. Having seen how simple and low-cost 'better' can be, I'm increasingly pissed off at supermarkets whining about consumer preferences and supply chain issues when they're asked to do the bare minimum.

It is so important to do what makes you feel good! I love that you were able to find something to fit in your routine that better suited you and your body. I have never really done meditation but I think it would be super helpful and I'm very intrigued by it. Thanks for being transparent about your experience with it, I have a squirrel brain and can't ever seem to quiet it so listening to different tones/vibrations might be the way to go, thanks for that. What?! You make your own bagels? I have looked into that but it seems quite taxing, especially because we go through them pretty quickly, that's amazing, good for you. I've never thought of using balm on eyebrows, that is a great tip. If you want to try a different deodorant when you use that up, the brand Native just came out with a paper tube as well and I love it. This was a great video! I also have a channel where I share all about sustainability as well and I'd love for you to check it out. Otherwise thanks so much for sharing your routine with us, I love watching these to see if I'm missing out on anything, you did a great job showing how easy it is to be low waste, thanks again! 💚🌎💙

Thank you so much! Yes I like making bagels and bread so I don't always have that plastic bag waste, but I'm definitely not perfect and buy from the store sometimes (I drop-off recycle the bags if I can, but obviously that's not a perfect solution). I'm the only one who eats them so I usually make a batch of 6 bagels on the weekend and then have them for breakfast or a snack now and then during of the week. It would definitely be much less "worth it" if they were eaten up quicker because they do take a couple hours. I'm lucky I have a newfound love for baking! Thanks for checking the video out (and yes I've heard about Native, I'll definitely try them at some point) and I'll check out your channel as well! <3

@@herbivore_jamie I hear you. I try to do plastic “recycling” drop off too but like you said. Not the greatest solution. Looking forward to a future bagel making video 😉 I’ll just prepare myself to double batch it ha. I love a free weekend day to bake and get some meal prepping done. It’s a lot easier to love in those times 🥰. Thanks again, keep up the great work! 💚

It's been pointed out to me that while I view a lot of this unwanted mail as "junk," stopping it can hinder the USPS and our postal workers. Let's mindfully support USPS by buying stamps, sending festive cards (extra points for using recycled materials), writing postcards to voters, calling our senators, etc. More ideas can be found at www.apwu.org/savepostoffice and punkpost.com/stories/easy-ways-to-support-usps

If you don’t know what Imperfect Foods is… they’re a company that takes the misshapen/mislabeled food that has been denied by regular grocery stores and would otherwise go to waste, and delivers it to you for a discounted price! Also, if you meet the qualifications for SNAP, they have a Reduced Cost Box Program (an additional 33% off) because they believe that good food should be available to everyone.
