If Monique had a counterpart in the original "12th Night", no doubt that she'll be portrayed as a woman who is much older than Sebastian and is pining him to marry her (since dating wasn't a thing back then). I say that because Monique has the characteristics of most older women portrayed in Shakespeare's plays (Willy never really liked cougars).

@@s3nnosides I honestly agree. I feel like the father owed a duty to these girls to help them and protect them after all they had endured. He saw how happy they were when they were invited to the prom and how they smiled. He had the power to stand up to the mother for them but instead he allowed them to be isolated. Yes the mother was the main protagonist for these girls, but the father also had an additional role to that too. after all there is always a choice, and that was one he would regret forever
