This song has a dual meaning. First the loan sharks of those days were unforgiving and thus synonymous with Ichibanda, the Devil 👿. They would enslave you with their impossible terms and when you failed to repay the loan, they would haunt you to the point of you commiting suicide. 😢 Another meaning to the song is that the Devil does not give something for nothing. For whatever he gives you, you will be sure to pay with your life. The message in the song is one of lament as it is a condemnation of the evils of debts. Now this is what I call "Mafunde" music
