Biggol comment of mine now: Gosh dang, that's nasty to hear about your arm. i'm very sorry about that. Hope it will properly heal soon and wish you both good luck and fun in other stuff that may require your attention. You are doing quite alright on the fights! Only one time that you "died" and it wasn't even the actual game over, just Pseudo's imaginary form. To give a short list of the Mercenaries encountered this time: - Arsakarsa, the British milky pale blue three-armed cat/bat woman. You're among the few to say she looks pretty. - Keratas, the rhino fellow. That dude pulled the E. Honda Sumo Stomp (Street Fighter reference) on you a lot. - Auga the Beastmaster. The Hornet's Nest artifact really made short work of him. - Ekeke (shrill bird man) and Diogenes (barrel toad with frying pan) - Strofo. The Southern goose lady with the boomerangs that I warned about last stream. That first throw of hers cemented why she ought to be feared :P You had *no* mercy in getting rid of her as soon as possible. - Blahgg. Poor Blahgg. - Tarnas. This dude's a jerkwad. Has a very convenient life philosophy that the weak should die and the strong should rule, but as soon as you got the upper hand in the Ritual he starts complaining. Very powerful hitter though, with a lot of range. And the only seemingly human guy so far. Not yet any new Mercenary monologues to overhear before you start a fight, but it's coming up. Oh, and i can fondly recommend trying out the Finisher on a Hornleg. That fawning over the slugs, herptiles and Eo of all things brought a smile to my face. Eo looks like some sort of bat that got smashed in the face with a pan, a toaster, had a pan shot at his face with a toaster and then some tired surgeon tried to rearrange it back like a baker would knead dough. You're also the first i've seen to actually want to buy the taxidermised goat with the twisted neck :P You got a new stance! And you never tried it out :P Same for Mammoth Stance, poor pachydermal martial art is collecting dust. I remember you saying that you are not as experienced with fighting games, but i do think you are making good use of the Directional Dodge Attacks compared to some that i've seen! Don't forget there's three Special Attacks to assign too (though you're making your way well enough without it) Mammoth Stance really is the pure slow, hard ungus bungus power stance. When you're in a stat menu (at the Training Dummy or a Totem) you can see a line in three colors. It's the same colors as the stats on the left side of the screen. Indicates how much a Stance or Specal attacks benefits percentage-wise of an upgrade to that stat. The name Lightning Stance may give an idea to its own special property too. Again: you're doing quite well so far but i'd be up for seeing you discover the other Stances and Special Attacks. Oh, and at the ledge to the left of that tunnel leading to the Zonectic Mountains, is a campfire. Try waking up at nighttime to see a surprise quite nearby :P (And the Fog Artifact does allow the winner to see silhouettes of the opponents. The mention of the "Fog-piercing glasses" is to handwave/explain why the winner could look through the fog). Thanks for still keeping up with the videos, and have a good one! And try not to molt on my garden too much.

With the power of uncooked ramen, my arms been healing great! We find a lot of strange stuff beautiful. As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! There's no other game that makes character designs like this one and we deeply appreciate how unique all of the characters are! No two characters feel or look or sound the same and we always feel like we are meeting someone new! We'll certainly try getting a finisher on the hornleg next time! We love bugs and other tiny creatures! We love Eo's smooshed face! He is wonderfully freaky! Me and Fanfic love freaky looking decor! The taxidermy would be a great addition to our living room! I've always been quite bad at switching combat techniques once I get really into a specific one. I'll definitely try practicing some of the other ones on wildlife and see if anything else clicks with me! We'll check out that tunnel next time we play! And it's good to know the fog artifact won't hinder us if we choose it! We'll try using it more often now. We really appreciate your comments! We read every one of them a second time right before our streams! They are very informative and have helped us learn a lot of the game play and lore!

@jurtheorc81174 ай бұрын
It's quite nice to see folks be as enamored and enchanted with the setting as they are, to linger and wonder at all the stuff. A lot in Zenozoik might not really have deeper meaning, perhaps it's just that way because the inhabitants liked it and perhaps not. But either way, it's nice to imagine and le the brain think of things. Strong agree with you that it's a pity it's so niche/little-known. The game does not work in "levels" as such. It's one big connected world. The reason it's loaded into different smaller zones is for being easier to load for the computer. You can look in the Settings to switch it to "Load in full map" but i wouldn't recommend it. Would be more taxing for your computer. On the note of the Settings-- would recommend to look at your Controls to see what buttons do the *Lock-On*, the *Run* and the *Stance Switch*. I noticed that you haven't yet switched to Mammoth Stance. And lock-on doesn't seem to be used often. It's a lot easier to perform sideways dodges with lock-on activated. Based on your comments, I surmise that you two would have a preference for hard, powerful ungus bungus damage. The Mammoth Stance is *the* stance for you in that case. Pure power, but also with slow startup. (Spear Stance is quite high in power too, as is the later Corwid stance) Here's a trick: You can switch stance while performing a combo. The Mammoth Stance's combo is only three hits, while Slash's is four. If you do - Slash stance: Two hits - Switch Stance on the second hit - Press attack button again Then the third hit of the Mammoth Stance (double-fist haymaker) comes out. Now, here's *another* trick that you may get more use out of: Animation canceling. If you input a new (non-combo) move the moment a previous attack hits an enemy, the new move comes out immediately. Works for dodge attacks, works for blocking, works for Special Attacks and back. This is signified by the enemy turning white for a moment, if I remember correctly. Also works *from* jumping-- and running attacks into those others I mentioned. I noticed you managed to do this a few times, especially strongly with Ekeke (the Yoda-voiced chicken man) when doing many dodge attacks. Dude didn't stand a chance! This would be useful with Mammoth Stance. Its dodge attacks come out a bit faster. Or at least, you are moving while performing them. Multi Strike can be useful, it makes IMMENSE distance like the brown/orange fox said. It also can hit two more times if you press the Special button again and again, making for fifteen punches total. But like the white fox said, it also locks you in place. It's not unusual for fighting games to have moves that can deal a lot of stun or damage, but require high commitment. (That's when players like to look for tricks to quickly end or cancel the animations. In real life you can't quickly change pose from an uppercut into a knee kick, hence why animation canceling is so beloved) Pseudo's Imaginary Form is an odd thing. From what i've gathered, it's a remnant from a multiplayer element that ACE Team wanted to add but couldn't make to work. So, it was turned into a gameplay element. It was said by one of the devs (either on steam forums or a vod of a dude named Beelz) that the Imaginary Form works kinda like this: The form is Pseudo's... unconsciousness. When you return to the area where Pseudo has been defeated, and start fighting, then from the enemies' perspective it's like Pseudo is getting back up as a zombie. But he can't safely wake up when the enemies are still nearby. This can bring up questions about the thorn walls... but they never really play a role in the story. From a narrative standpoint, there's not much of a significant presence to the Imaginary Form and how it works. For fun: Here's some names of the Mercenaries you have fought so far! - Blahgg (cowpie troll with the big bruised face) - Ekeke - Diogenes (yellow toad with a bad haircut and a nose ring in a barrel) - Arsakarsa (Bri'ish cat/bat lady with three arms) - Verruk (arrogant dumpy bird) - Tralkis (the scary three-legged malformed moose man) - Keratas (the prehistoric orange rhino man you could see past the thorn bush, right before you fought Blahgg and Tralkis) Appreciate that you take the time to listen what they have to say before attacking, by the way. There's some fun personality to the Mercenaries and I do hope you keep enjoying them. The game will only get harder from here, so... good luck! Glad it's still being enjoyed.

I was completely and entirely distracted by the scenery that I forgot I was streaming and needed to say stuff!! Loved looking around wondering what everything meant. Its good to know I won't get locked out of previous places!!! I'll certainly do my best to utilize more of the combat tips to in the next session. I've never been too great with timing combat moves, so any moves that lock me into an enemy frighten me a bit! Also, the white fox is named Alces and the orange is Fanfic. Unfortunate that Clash isn't a multiplayer game or I could've played with Fanfic! The imaginary world is a very interesting feature though and I cant wait to explore it more. I don't think I've ever seen a mechanic in another game quite like it! I do appreciate all the characters personalities quite a bit! They all feel very unique and surprisingly human, despite the nonhuman appearances. I fully expected this game to be a simple monster fighting adventure but its much more than that! It feels like I've genuinely journeyed to another world! I hope it doesn't get too hard, I've still got a lot of combat to learn!

The second game in the Zeno Clash series is co-op, but it's first person only, and a bit jankier, but I still love it.
@jurtheorc81174 ай бұрын
@@ArcticAlces Thanks for clarifying on the names! Understandable about not wanting to get stuck in an animation and be vulnerable. If you ever want to train a bit, you may be able to do so with the wildlife enemies and the nighttime enemies. Wildlife enemies usually aren't as formidable as the Mercenaries and other intelligent foes. Meanwhile the Nighttime versions tend to have less health. You two usually play different kinds of games, I assume? Yo udid say last stream that The Eternal Cylinder was a previous experience (and the trebhum versions of your sonas are quite adorable) and that's more of a survival adventure. Like JareGraphics said, Zeno Clash 2 can be played co-op. Zeno Clash 1 is only about four or five hours, ZC2 is around twelve or so. Clash is the longest game in the series so far. As for the imaginary world... Lords of the Fallen and Mortal Shell appear to have done something similar, but those are more difficult in design. More conventionally Souls-ish. If the devs saw this, they'd be very much delighted. That's heartening to read :) Hope the story and Zenozoik itself may keep intriguing you! The game is going to get tough, but I think you'll be able to manage. You survived the first encounter with Claw (crab ninja) well enough on the second --sorry, FIRST-- try and he's among the fastest of all bosses & enemies. Now let's see how you will fare against the mercenary matchups that will appear in town. Beware the goose.

@@jurtheorc8117 I'll have to try out combat on wildlife then! We typically play games like farming sims, detective games and cutesy rpgs, like Frog Detective or Slime Rancher. We saw the eternal cylinder on steam and found the trebhums very endearing, so we decided to change things up a bit! We saw that the developers had many other games and decided to try out the rest. I bought Clash on sale, but I wish I bought it at full price. It's a great game! We'll certainly check out all of their other games at some point. Most likely after we finish both Clash and the Eternal Cylinder. My experience with combat based games is very limited, but I'll try my best to beat the game! It's good to know I defeated the fastest enemy already, cause that fight was quite nerve-wracking! I do fear the future goose encounter though.

And if you two want to wish to pursue it further, here's some tips: - You've seen that Stances are a thing. A Stance always consists of a Combo String Sideways Dodge Attack Forwards Dodge Attack Backwards Dodge Attack Jump Attack Run Attack Hold Button Attack On the whole, it's easy inputs to remember. All Stances have wholly different animation movesets too. If you stood back from the training dummy in the tutorial a bit more, you would have seen that the Stances have range differences. Spear Stance reaches the furthest of *any* Stance, its damage is concentrated straight ahead, but as you noticed-- has slow startup. Boxing's an allrounder, Slash hits wider than most Stances and keeps a generally low profile. You can also switch in the middle of a combo. You'll have to look up in the Controls what the stance switch button is. It's no Street Fighter or Tekken but is solid and fun for what it is. The game's not the greatest in 1- giving direction 2- explaining which are two bad points i can agree on. You two skipped over a small training area that would have explained how to block, and what the first person meter is. Blocking an enemy makes them move slower for a few seconds (but the reverse can count too) and builds up the Super Meter quite well. Can be used to catch and return projectiles as well. If you enter the Super State/First Person mode and you keep doing enough damage, without getting knocked out, it will lead into a heavy finishing move. (you can also see the opponent's name on the top right!) The "Stamina meter" is not really stamina, it just removes 50% of the damage you would have taken from something. As long as there's even a *little* bit in that ring left. Also means you are less likely to get knocked out of an animation, even if you do get hit. Finally... for now, at least, there's a lesson from the tutorial that's not explained super well for newcomers. If you input a new attack (that isn't part of a Combo String-- so like, a Special Attack, Sideways Dodge Attacks, Jump/Charge/Run attack) the *moment* your previous attack makes contact with an enemy, the new attack comes out quicker. Here's some trivia: The Zeno Clash series have their inspirations in stuff like prehistoric animals and medieval monster paintings, like the works of Hieronymus Bosch. Or the Drolatic Dreams of Pantagruel woodcuts. The boar is inspired by a prehistoric wild boar ancestor known as the Entelodont-- nicknamed the "Hell Pig". I believe they were pack-hunting omnivores. And the Metamoq Armor is a reference to a combat teacher character from Zeno Clash 1. big comment, do with it what you will, but like i said in my other comment: for how seriously i do take the story and how much of a geek i may be with this all, i do hope you will enjoy the tale that this game has on offer, regardless of how you play it. You were doing well against the Cthenodont (boar) and the second fight against Ekeke and the barrel toad muppet whose name i forgot.

Well, you've done it. You've attracted the attention of a very big Zeno Clash fan, to which Clash: Artifacts of Chaos is a prequel. The first game came out way back in 2009 and was a first-person beat-em-up. Only around six hours. Second game came out in 2013 and is about twelve hours. It's a little-talked about and niche series, but those that love it, *strongly* stick with it. There's no world quite like it. On that note, i'm not sure if i'll be following you two's series on it. There is a genuinely really good story to it with a lot of good moments through the music, characters etc. but I... take it quite seriously. You two seem to be more here to have fun with each other, and use a game as a backdrop to get into new situations to keep on talking, rather than engaging in the narrative. So there is a C l a s h in how we approach it. But as it stands, i'm glad that more people are discovering Clash: Artifacts of Chaos and are having a good time with it. I'm not an authority on how this game "should" be played, so don't take the words of a stranger on the internet too close to heart. I just hope that Zenozoik, as the land is called, will be a source of joy as well as genuine fascination and interest. So to that end, wish you both a lot of fun on the adventures of Clint Eastwood: Martial Arts Earthworm Edition Have a good one, the both a' yus.
