Could you explain why she didn't die? And why did the guy kill her?

I'm curious, but I'm not really a fan of reading mangas.

@@GoldenTears1 Basically she was fused with alien and revived, just like Kasumi did with Yellow Knife (big froggy) in this episode. Except, she was fused with her borg (helmet). Now for the context, the true intention of school and “Alien Party” to raise suitable human hosts for symbiotic fusion with the borg of the Drill Clan and turn them into alien. (both teacher and principal is infused alien of Drill Clan) When human gets absorbed and fused with alien, they gain abilities from that alien. Kumi gained ability to turn her body into drill, just like her borg. Much later in the story Kumi finds out her “killer” and brutally shred it into pieces. Why did alien killed Kumi? Well Kumi was killed by alien(not human) fused with older generation borg, as an act of retaliation to school for kicking her out of duties that 3 protagonists are doing because she was considered as a failure. I know all of this explanations are confusing but anime ended before any of the core plot starts to unravel (only about 1/5 of the entire series) so it’s really difficult to explain..hope you got some of the ideas.

@@0990ftn Thank you so much for explaining! Maybe in the future I'll try and read it. Would you recommend me reading it? (Sorry for my bad english.)

@@GoldenTears1 Absolutely, There are total of 7 comics, 3 volumes for original series, 1 volume for “Alien 9 Emulator” which depicts 1 year later from the original series (and Kumi’s revenge), and 3 volumes of “Alien 9 Next” which is about Kumi who’s now 23 years old goes for long space expedition to find her identity as an alien. Original series and Emulators are my recommendations, Next is totally optional(it’s more of an author’s self produced doujin book, it’s quite expensive and only has 30 pages per volume, not sure they even made translated by version of it)
