Is this the good old fleetwood prom on the northwest stages rally? Certainly looks similar.... Nice to see an old felicia on the stages, they're non existant now which is why im building 1.

Oh wow, that first few seconds took me back nearly 50 years, so special back then to see the Stratos screaming and skittering over the gravel, great memories of following the RAC round the country, dashing into the forest, watch the first 40 or so cars then legging it back to the car to leapfrog the field and watch the quick guys again in another stage later on. Thanks for letting us share a gem of a video.

I would probably have been there on Saturday but I had to work. As it happens my drive home was quite the rally. Thanks for the images from the day (I attended last year) and the 1980s nostalgic feel I get. Hopefully everyone got safely away. I did manage to get home through the snow, rescuing people along the way - Go Panda 4x4! Ad altiora!

Beautiful. If I close my eyes I'm transported back to Clipstone forest in the late 70s waiting for Sandro Munari to arrive and hearing the Stratos minutes before actually seeing the car scream past

And that my friends demonstrates the state of British rallying! All the hocked up R5's etc struggling to make any progress, and the two wheel drive and Subaru guys giving it what they can. The moral of the tale...use your R5 on tarmac between April and September and get a decent car for the winter!

It doesn't look fun being down in that bog! I was really pleased with how quickly we all got the car out and they finished 3rd in class which isn't too bad. If more stages had been run, I reckon they could have made the lost time back but it wasn't to be.
@HairpinMotorsportMedia10 ай бұрын
That corner's caught out a fair few drivers in its time! We estimate they probably lost about 1m45, which in those conditions wasn't even too bad! They're both OK too, we've heard from them on our Facebook page after the event

Wonder how many of the folks stood there laughing at the drivers of very expensive rally kit, are still sat in the carparks banging on, on facebook about "is anyone coming to help us get out" 😆

Thanks for being there in that horrible white stuff. Back in the 80's my cousin and I used to follow the Lombard RAC rally. We were at Grizedale and the snow was 6" above the tops of our wellies. After they'd gone through we had to drive about 2 miles through the stage to get to a main road. Even at 30 or 40 those tracks were bloody treacherous!!

We always try and stick around for the full field where we can, clubmen are just as important, if not more so, to the running of events than the headline-grabbing front-runners! Congratulations on making it through!

Yes always been an integral part of rallying since the beginning! But understandably less people are gonna photograph or video a cat 1 car compared to a sideways mk2 (or stratos this year) so we appreciate the features when they do happen :)

Great video, we are spectating this coming weekend at the Cambrian rally 2023, trying to get some info how to best spectate the day. Did you use the dedicated spectator areas, or just go off piste to find a good spot? Did you manage to get to both spectator stages over the day ? The schedule seems tight considering the distance between Elsi and Brenig.
