FOUND!! The Hesitations - Yesterday I’m hoping someone here might be able to help with finding the original sample to this song here is the instrumental: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooLRm2aKfKlnbZIsi=Ib8mlGiVBSluy1oD Here’s what information i’ve been able to obtain from Fatlip: Contains covers of “Yesterday” by The Beatles and “By The Time I Get to Phoenix” by Jimmy Webb. Album cover might depict the band in a jail setting. Timeframe: purchased it at a yard sale between 2000 and 2004, but he believes the album is much older than that. I’ve already combed through hundreds of albums on Discogs, and I’ve checked WhoSampled, but nothing has turned up. If anyone recognizes these details or has any leads, I would be incredibly grateful for your help! Thanks in advance for any guidance or tips you can offer.

Sounds kinda like All For love by Color Me Badd which samples The Mad Lads - Patch my Heart. I'm not so sure it's a sample. If there is no credits on the album then Fatlip probably sampled himself playing the melody.

@@dillwill1813I was able to get in contact with fatlip that’s how I obtained all the information I had. he also had been trying to remember what it is for awhile and luckily we struck gold and found it!

Hey pear, any interest in redoing this? The sync (and spelling out of doot-doot-mm-doot-doot) is good but the vocal isolation leaves some to be desired (unless its an intentional effect).

I don't really have access to old work at the moment due to some hard drive failures. The doubling vocal is so important to the track but at the time I made this it wouldn't separate so I figured it'd sound better to just sing over it then not have it at all. I do think it could probably be improved now. A lot has changed in two years. Just being honest but this would be a low priority track for me to rebuild even outside of not having the file anymore. It's a great song but not the best karaoke and the number of views versus the time it would take to rebuild from scratch mean it'd be a long time if ever before I got to it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
