Im happy they are still making these kits. Give us a chance to build these vintage kits we never got a chance to build.

Absolutely correct! Thankfully Atlantis has done similarly with some of the old Revell kits as well, even though their line is far broader than cars. So MANY kits from prior to our childhood are available again, & really ought not be overlooked.

Hi Thanks so much for sharing! I've been looking for a 2 to 4 door conversion video. For future reference, have You seen this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y33PpoiZop6fh6Msi=1hM_GwwVxyriZqem (Solvent then draw with Sprue like a crayon) Would this work to cover up panel lines too? Being extra careful with any raised details of course. Thanks take care /Rosemary

Nice tutorial. Jess sent me over just in time. I want to learn to use acrylics on my current project. Happy Modeling, Cory
@25times Жыл бұрын
So grateful to Jess for sending you over, and thank you for your kind comment. The key to acrylics is using lots of coats. If you are coming from spray cans, which can cover a car in one coat, you will be shocked at how many coats you need to cover a car with acrylic. In the video, I showed four coats on the blue Ford. I think I actually did about eight coats on it. The Merc also has eight or nine coats. Because it’s water-based, acrylic paint is much thinner, but it builds up just as lustrous as, the rattlecan stuff if you’re patient. Good luck!

I bought the MPC 'snap' 49`or is a 50`Mercury 'police cruiser' coupe at Ollies years ago. Terrible model, but I`m attempting to build it as a 4 door stock sedan, no chopped roof.Enjoyed your video, and the part about scribing the door lines was very helpful.I`m making it for a friend who as the real car and I plan to give it to him for Christmas, so I`m putting my best into it,I hope to get done in time!

Nice video and the paint looks like a WINNER. Acrylic craft paints are pretty versatile and when used with airbrush and a clearcoat can look as good as most anything. I use the craft acrylics on many of my interiors and top coated with rattle can clears of different gloss for different textures.
