miss mervet, you truly mean so much to me. i just had a dream of you. i have your last name tattooed on my left hand because you always told me to work on my left side haha i love you, thank you for absolutely every lesson and every bit of guidance. you helped turn me into such a hard working and dedicated person. i wish that i could really thank you in person; both of you. you opened my eyes to how big the world was just by existing and moving how you did. i remember seeing you in walgreens randomly and it felt like seeing a goddess or a celebrity outside of school. truly unforgettable thank you for everything moving with such grace and elegance has never left my spirit. wishing you godspeed on any journey blesssss

What a wonderful project you have created, Tina and Jamie. A great gift to current and future generations. Honoring legacy. And, community!! Much gratitude. And see you tonight, Tina! (classmate in Nina Fonaroff's daily ballet class in the 60s and 70s- now that is a joyous memory!)

I have known Wally for 36 years. I have not seen him in decades, but it is nice to see a video of him. He did not start dancing until he was 19 or so, so it is amazing how accomplished he has become. I miss you Wally! (Jonathan Cummings Freelancers 83)

Excellent biographical sketch. Sokolow taught during NYC's artistic renaissance. The vintage B&W classes are a superb view into the intensity of the teacher and her zealous students. Kevin Spacey is also fine as a commentator- why did he have to go and mess up? Oh well. But I enjoyed this posting. Where is the rest of it?

Ms. Mervet made a huge impact in my life at John Hopkins. I wish I had a way to reconnect with her. I am so saddened to hear Wagih passed away - I adored him greatly! The love of dance was always evident in these two. 💖
