very nice! the pantheon supersonic is CHOICE. i just got mine and i'm getting used to it, the somewhat dead rear truck is a bit weird at first and i'm figuring out carving downhill. living in NYC, so unfortunately i can't just take off and ride throughout half of the city because i'll inevitably get murdered by a car or a delivery bike, so having to look for safe (and flat) spots to ride - but there are plenty :) stay safe out there!

Yeah, dealing with a city traffic is a skill that needs to be managed separately. When I was a road cyclist it took me maybe a year to get used to it (I didn't drive a car at that moment). I may suggest that you have a look at MeetJay channel, if I remember correctly most of his longboarding videos are from the streets of NYC. Keep riding!

Thanks! At that time it was a stock supersonic on mcfly's 86 mm wheels, bear trucks 130 mm (50/43) and stock bushings I don't even remember which ones, but harder at the back, softer at the front. Since then I've broken the kingpin on the front truck. Changed it to Paris v3 150 mm. Also all 4 bushings were changed to those that better suite my riding style.

Мой город совсем не для лонгборда, ввиду большого количества бордюров и полного отсутствия велодорожек, а иногда и тротуаров. Для себя я выбрал круизер. Он легче и меньше, а еще на нем можно прыгать, преодолевая препятствия. Сейчас стоит озвученная в видео проблема - никто кроме меня не катается на таком транспорте. Создал группу в телеграмме. Нигде не продвигал, но пара ребят уже добавились. Может из этого что-то и выйдет. Просто комментарий в поддержку канала.

Спасибо. Перед тем, как приехать жить в Белград, я изучал информацию про этот город и видел вопросы из серии "можно ли кататься на лонгборде". И ответ был "нет, нельзя - негде". А по факту теперь это мой основной транспорт, когда нужно неспешно куда-то доехать в пределах 10-15 км от центра. Круизёр у нас тоже есть, LY Dinghy на 72 мм колёсах. Несмотря на то, что это очень клёвая доска сама по себе, всё же на ней менее комфортно. Правда мы на бордюры не прыгаем, не умеем. Но особо и не требуется.

Greetings from San Francisco. It appears that our cities are similar in 2 major ways: we have lots of hills (switch-push skills are a benefit), and decaying road infrastructure (bad tarmac). I can relate to the declining longboarding scene that you are noticing in your city. Prior to 2020 there were a lot of longboard commuters in San Francisco, majority of them on electric longboards. Then when the lockdowns happened, all of that changed, and sadly, the scene has never recovered. I'm attributing it to evolving trends wherein longboards are being replaced with E-scooters, E-bikes, and E-unicycles. It's all about speed and range nowadays, and less with fitness and "that longboard flow". I'm fairly certain, however, that the trend will swing the other way where the simplicity and freedom of being able to push a longboard over long distances is way more satisfying than standing/sitting on a motorized platform that relies on batteries. Keep longboarding culture alive...and don't stop pushing.

Hi, my name is Johann and I am a 50 year old rider, I live in the southwest of France but I work in Paris. I watched a lot of your videos to make a choice on the longboard that I should buy between the pranayama and the trip, I could not decide I chose the carbon trip. I thank you very much for your channel because it makes you want to ride a longboard. However, I had a few remarks to make on this last video: I wanted to make a small comparison with France. Here the law prohibits riding on sidewalks or at a maximum speed of 6 km / h and the regulations are really very strict because they only allow riding on cycle roads with specific equipment such as lights in front and behind, a helmet, a bell and specific insurance. Because of this many people prefer to buy a bike. At the 10th minute you say that € 400 is cheap compared to a € 10,000 bike. But we find electric scooters or electric skateboards at the same price and beginners don't know how to brake so they prefer to go for this kind of product ready to ride without experience. Moreover, in France with taxes, the supersonic is over €500. At the 15th minute you talk about the push mongo. The push mongo is pushing with the foot at the back of the board. Changing feet or switching is going from regular to gouffy. Regarding young people who do figure skating or dancing, I think they prefer to impress young girls rather than go hiking with the old guys! Thanks for your videos and keep it up! Best regards.

Hi Johann, and thank you for your comment. I didn't expect anyone to watch the video so long and do it with attention 😀 I've watched many videos from France cities. My bet is that the strict rules for sidewalks are because of the mature developed bike/skate infrastructure. In Serbia we are just at the beginning here. Maybe in the future, things will move further, and more restrictions will be applied here also. And you are right about the prices, but my take here is that we compare one of the best mass-produced complete longboard setups to the cheapest Chinese scooters. Чё это)) я тоже от начала до конца посмотрел, пришлось только слушать с автопереводом ИИ 😄 Вы все верно говорите, топовый лонг или дешман велик. Но при выборе между велосипедом и лонгом мне кажется много ещё зависит создаваемого впечатления. Новичок выглядит часто нелепо в глазах окружающих и даже инородно среди городской массы. Чтобы такого не ощущалось, нужно уметь очень хорошо кататься и желательно иметь велодорожки. Поэтому велосипед все равно будет оставаться более популярным. Я перестал ездить на велосипеде, так как мне не требуется покрывать большие расстояния, у меня есть для этого автомобиль. А чтобы почувствовать наслаждение от поездки мне как раз подходит лонгборд. Это чувство не заменит другой вид "транспорта". Как минимум это всегда весело. И мне нравится что не каждый проходящий мимо человек может овладеть лонгбордом прямо здесь и сейчас, этому нужно учиться. Создаётся ощущение какой то уникальной возможности :) Кстати я все таки купил лоадед фатом, если помните немного ранее я писал вам на канале. И все таки буду ждать обзора от вас, если он вам подвернётся где то😊

@@Vitos700x да пора признаться самим себе, что мы просто фанаты :) У нас на двоих 5 досок, а скоро будет 6. Кстати, дешёвые китайские электросамокаты не могут меня обогнать в местные подъёмы, у них не тянет батарейка или контроллер, едут 10-12 кмч и видно, что с надрывом, особенно если ездун тяжёлый. Поздравляю с покупкой фатома, да, конечно помню. У меня скоро будет новая досочка, по слухам это будет лдп-пушка. Так что скорее всего если договоримся с ребятами, будет её сравнение с сетапом g-bomb.

thanks for this video! I own and love my Supersonic 6 ply (I'm a short guy, 170cm, 68kg). I tried the Icarus and Tan Tien both once, but they felt too tall, hard to push and kinda unpredictable, but maybe because I was too used to the Supersonic and didn't give myself enough time to learn... 1) how much do you like more or less the Vanguard vs Icarus (and Tan Tien, if you have ever tried this board); 2) do you think it's really worth it to have a Icarus/Vanguard for someone that already has the Supersonic? Not sure if my height, weight and wheelbase also affected negatively the experience with the Icarus and Tan Tien somehow since they are fairly long and tall boards; 3) Where each one of them really shine based on your experience? It's always a pain for the first 5 minutes when you change supersonic to any other board that is twice taller. Doesn't matter which one. Pushing technique needs some time to adapt, and the amount of time is individual. But when you get used to it, it's just a different experience. There is so much fun on vanguard because it's as flexible as a sofa. It is less stable but very fun in its own different way. Pumping and carving are like magic. Icarus is somewhere in the middle between supersonic and vanguard. A little bit lower then vanguard because of drop through, more stable. Everyone says icarus is the best board ever, but personally for me it was not my board. I cracked the bolts every month, and finally it began to crack near the dropouts, and the guys from loaded exachanged it to vanguard, which I'm happy with. I also tried dervish several times. It reminded me of icarus despite being longer and having more flex. But again, drop through truck mounting is not for me, it felt like something is stealing my energy. Maybe it's just my poor technique.

How would you compare vanguard and supersonic? Which one is more fun and better with carving and pumping?

It totally depends on your setup. In my case I have vanguard flex 3 on medium bushings, so the deck flexes a lot under my weight of about 85 kg, but the bushings on paris trucks keep it overall a little bit harder with extra rebound. The supersonic has an asymmetric setup (50/43 + wedge/de-wedge by the deck itself), medium flex (7-ply) and very soft front bushings. The rear truck is not flipped and has hard bushings. This all means that both boards are pumpable with wide arcs at low speed (up to 10-13 km/h). I usually skate with my wife and friends and they don't ride faster. The technique differs a little bit because of trucks and decks flex, but not much. But when we speak about the faster pace, like 15-20 km/h, there is no way vanguard can compete with supersonic even in this configuration. Because on supersonic you may wiggle, on vanguard flex 3 it's not effective. And ss can be made even faster by flipping the rear truck. Concerning the carving I find supersonic more stable and predictable at high speeds. But both boards are fun, that's why I ride both regularly.

The board will become almost 200 g heavier, more "lazy" (have more inertia) and 5 mm higher. In terms of LDP on good straight roads Hoku are even maybe better then Karma. But when city streets cruising maybe not. Haven't tested them, those are just my thoughts.

Максимально эффективный пампинг в ущерб каким-то другим качествам (например удобству при круизинге) дают брекетные сетапы. У меня таковых нет, так что посоветовать никакой не могу. Видел, что ребята собирают на брекетах g-bomb и торсионных задних подвесках. Ценник комплита уходит за 1000 евро легко. Из недорогих китайцев есть lepsk8, можно хорошо сэкономить, посмотрите, по отзывам они ок. Если же тратить много денег не хочется и требуется большая универсальность, то есть pantheon supersonic, есть у zenit несколько комплитов. Считается, что суперсоник всех их заруливает, но сам не сравнивал.

Сразу подписалась - хороший обзор доски. Тоже начала кататься на доске drop down - супер стабильная на неровностях, но теперь опасаюсь, что на drop-through или top-mount, если куплю, буду учиться как впервые на доске. Что скажете по разнице в ощущениях при катании на down и иных формах дек и флексах?

Спасибо! Каждая доска имеет свои особенности, от каждой свои ощущения. В каком-то смысле каждая требует привыкания, даже сейчас, когда я меняю доски регулярно, приходится первые минут 10-15 просто привыкать с ощущениям: флекс, глубина приседа при пуше, управление траками, колёса - всё влияет, не только форма деки и дроп даун. Из хороших новостей: при регулярной смене досок туда-сюда те новые скилы и ощущения, которые при этом появляются, переносятся в том или ином виде на все доски. Т.е. на мой взгляд менять доски нужно, чтобы просто быстрее прогрессировать. Можете посмотреть на этом канале видео, как Вера сранивала Supersonic и Loaded Icarus, при этом она до этого каталась только на LY Dinghy. With my setup it feels a little bit less stable because of very soft bushings in the front truck and smaller wheels. Both make supersonic like more turny. But in fact when you gain speed it is totally ok. No wobbling, no instability. You just need a slightly better balance at start.

@@xiaochenliu2326 they look the same height but due to flex (mine is 7-ply) and a little bit larger wheelbase supersonic might get a little bit lower when you ride it depending on your weight and efforts. So from the sense of just pushing they are the same, from the sense of going on top of obstacles, jumping from curbs etc prana is more "all terrain".

Отчасти можно, но у меня это получается делать в очень специальных условиях: хороший асфальт, штиль, мышцы свежие. Т.е. эффективности при моей технике (правда она далека от идеальной) хватает, чтобы в этом случае не терять скорость. Я бы сказал, что делать это не нужно, доска явно не для этого. Если поиграть с углами подвесок, поставить поменьше колёса... но зачем, если есть трип и суперсоник. Такие вот мысли про это.

Спасибо за отзыв. А чем так зацепил вас фатом? Дорогая доска, тяжёлая, не для пампа и жёсткая. Ни рыба, ни мясо. Не встречал пока фанатов. Хотя отдельно на других деках видел сборки на тех же зи-брекетах у людей. Могу попробовать договориться взять фатом на обзор здесь, но пока не могу найти интереса к ней.

It's possible to go downhill like 30-40 km/h probably without wobbling. But as far as I know downhill is a discipline requiring a special setup that also includes a stiff deck, so I don't recommend dervish for downhill. Concerning the uphill, I'd also recommend a more stiff drop-down deck, you'll waste less energy.

Спасибо. У меня был икарус, не сложилось у меня с ним, то болты рвал, то расслоение деки началось. Теперь только топ-маунты использую. Пантеон понравился просто, для моих целей самое то. Заниженная дека для пуша, ассиметричная конфигурация для пампинга.
